Wie gesagt, hängt von vielen Faktoren ab. Wenn er den Durchbruch in der deutschen Bundesliga schafft, die Bayern zum Meistertitel schießt und dann mit 30 Jahren zu uns zurückkehrt, definitiv ja. Wenn er Zeit seiner Karriere in der 2. Bundesliga am Bankerl sitzt, vermutlich nein.

Ok, von den Bayern ist er circa so weit entfernt, wie wir vom CL-Titel in den nächsten 20 Jahren. Realistisches Szenario ist einfach für ihn maximal bei einem Mittelständler in der DBL ein paar gute Saisonen zu haben bis eben der 2. Bundesliga.

Abgesehem davon das Kicker wie Hofmann oder eben Savicevic Leithammeln sind, was man vom Jimmy nicht wirklich behaupten kann

branko kann uns helfen und auch bei den spielern und fans eine positive stimmungund einen ruck reinbringen, was weber nicht kann. und mehr nicht

Wieso nicht? Weil ihm die Fans keine faire Chance geben? Muss man bei Transfer jetzt darauf achten was die Fans wollen?

Ein Leithammel ist Weber, sicher nicht schlechter als Branko.

Auch ich möchte hier meine persönliche Meinung in Bezug eines DM bzw. ZMF Spielers abgeben. Da ja hier sehr stark für bzw. gegen BB gepostet wird, spreche ich mich klar für BB aus. Ich bin der Meinung das er uns auch mit seinem etwas fortgeschrittenen Alter noch weiterhelfen kann.

Bosko hat seit gestern einen Vertragsvorschlag liegen, also ist die Entscheidung seitens Rapid wohl gefallen. Abwarten ob man sich einig wird.

Zwecks Einstimmung noch a bissi Bosko-Material aus Amerika ..

Boskovic was a regular starter during the playoffs this year, manning the central attacking midfield spot in Ben Olsen's 4-2-3-1 and scoring United's lone goal in the season-ending draw against Houston in the Eastern Conference Final second leg, his second goal of the season, and only the second MLS regular season or playoff goal he netted for the Black-and-Red in his time here in D.C.

Our now-former #8's stint at RFK will probably be classified by many as a disappointment, but I don't know that that's how most United fans will consider it. After joining the team as a Designated Player midway through the Year That Shall Not Be Named, Boskovic showed up to 2011 training camp out of shape and began the year riding the pine. All that changed - but not really - one famous Open Cup night at the Maryland Soccerplex: Brankostock. The injury again left him less than fully fit to begin the 2012 campaign, but the former Rapid Wein man found the field and had a run in late spring as a set piece magician. In another U.S. Open Cup game on the outskirts of the National Capitol Region, we witnessed the birth of the Legend of Bodkin. And of course, he authored a pass Steve Nash could only dream of to set up LEWIS NEAL and United's return to the playoffs.

Even disregarding the important role he's played for United in 2012 - and for this site over the last couple years - what will stick out about Boskovic to me is the passion he showed - even if belatedly - for D.C. United. How many players would turn down a World Cup Qualifier call-up to help their club team in a run for the playoffs? Branko did. How many players would agree to a substantial midseason pay cut to stick around what we were starting to realize had the potential to be a special team? Branko did. How many players would see out a playoff run and wait "several months" until the off-season to address his family issues halfway around the world? Branko did. I can't say I would have made all the same choices he made (particularly the last one), but in each instance, he put United ahead of himself, and that's at the forefront of how I'll remember Branko Boskovic and his term with United.

Well, that, and the "I don't know what to do with myself" euphoria he experienced after scoring his first league goal in a black kit. The video is below.

The United fightback would begin just four minutes later. Morsink showed admirable patience to turn down a chance at an awkward volley, instead smartly playing the ball to Charlie Davies, who had come on as a sub. Davies showed his class with a one-touch pass back to Boskovic, who despite being off-balance lashed the ball past Shuttleworth after taking a touch.

Boskovic would strike again in the 83rd minute, again showing tremendous skill. There didn't appear to be much danger as Boskovic received a pass from Andy Najar, but the Montenegro captain took advantage of some slack Revolution defending to hammer a low shot from 30 yards out into the lower corner. Shuttleworth appeared to get a hand on the ball, but Boskovic had hit the ball with such power that it made no difference.

What is Branko Boskovic‘s status?

“We met with Branko yesterday and we will have a follow-up meeting today.”

He is under contract through next summer, but Ben Olsen suggested a decision on his future is coming soon.

“It’s his personal family situation. It’s a recent issue, we’re discussing it, and we are talking through it.”

Something beyond soccer is pulling him home to Montenegro?

“Yes, it’s something he has brought to our attention. We understand and we’ll make a decision soon.”

Do you want him back?

“We would love to have Branko back. We want to make sure Branko is going to be happy. We would absolutely like to have Branko back for six months and possibly more, but family comes first.”
