Total Dominance from here on – Time to Conquer Europe again.

No matter how modest the board acts about this year’s Scudetto, the fact is that we’ve already won it and in style. Whats even sweeter is the fact that we’re 8 points clear of the second best team that until last year had been ‘The Force’ in Seria A , with another four rounds to go and that is no joke. It’s been a great season for the Rossoneri after heaps of misery over the past 4 seasons, despite the fact that our European campaign was a big disappointment. But hang on, haven’t we always been advised by our elders to take one step at a time ?

There should be no looking back from here on, and with the best possible start to this new decade, I think Milan should now only concentrate on carrying this momentum forward and carve a new history that surpasses the one we created in the last one. Total Dominance, should be our new motto starting next season. People say that Seria A has been in decline but from where I see it, things are only getting better. Roma has been taken over by some American Billionaire, Milan are back to doing what they do best, that is win titles, Napoli are trying hard to get themselves out of oblivion and teams like Udinese are playing a brand of football that only the likes of Barcelona can emulate. Yes, we have lost that essential European spot to Germany, but its only a matter of time before Seria A totally dominates Europe again. Leagues go through cycles where teams from the same league totally dominate Europe. The Italian League enjoyed one not so long ago before Calciopoli and yet has managed to win more Champions League that any other league over the past four seasons.

With the season almost over, I personally feel this is going to be one of the best transfer seasons in a long time. Milan have finally loosened their purse and we showed that last season with the signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and hoard of other big signings and barring a certain Papasthapoulous, each one of them has had major impact on the side this season. Didac Vila is yet to start, but from what I have read, he’s a basket full of talent and its only a matter of time before the likes of Zambrotta, Oddo, Nesta and other various experienced players groom him into the next big thing. The value of experience goes beyond the weekend matches. Its on the training ground that it comes handy as these players are required to groom the future stars of the team. Didn’t we extend a certain Favalli’s contract for a year just so he could help Thiago Silva adapt through his first season in Seria A ? The result – He’s today the best defender in Seria A and amongst the best in the world. We have some really great youngsters coming up with Merkel, Berretta, Verdi, Boateng, Vila,Emmauelson, Abate, Pato (whos already entered the big league) to name a few. Throw in the experience of the likes of Ibrahimovic, Inzaghi, Nesta, Seedorf, Pirlo Zambrotta, Ambrosini, Gattuso and Van Bommel to help them grow, and we have a breed of youngsters bleeding red and black all over Europe in the coming seasons. I say, extend all their contracts with proper negotiations over their massive salaries as that would only help us groom the many youngsters that are waiting on the sidelines to take the Seria A by storm. Besides its hard to say Good-bye to all these players who for so long have been playing together, so much so that it would be a travesty to see them wear anything but red and black.

No doubt, we’re still not up-to the mark in Europe and need to replace some of our players in the starting eleven but I think this summer transfer we will definitely try to look into those matters. In fact the process has already begun, with the reported signing of Taiwo and increased rumors of Ganso joining the side next season. With Ibrahimovic, Pato and Ganso leading the attack next season with Robinho, Cassano and Inzaghi on the bench, don’t you think we’d been an object of envy to the very bests in Europe ? Its important to seal the deal involving Boateng because personally I feel he’s been the best signing this seaosn. If only Pirlo could stay fit and if only we could get another classy mid-fielder to replace Gattuso, I think we’d be perfect in the midfield as well. As far defence is concerned, with the signing of Taiwo we’ve solved the problem on the left side of the field because you have to watch him maraud the left flank to actually believe how effective he is. The fact that he comes for free is in fact the icing on the cake. I have my doubts over Nesta’s fitness and I really hope we can sign a defender who could replace him when he’s down. Of course, we have reportedly signed Mexes on a free transfer but with his latest visit to the surgeon, I doubt he’d have the same pair of legs he had a couple of seasons back.

This is my team for next season and if only we could stay calm and patient over the coming years we would only see an improvised side because the president like us only loves the club and nothing less.

Goal Keepers : Abbiati, Marchetti, Roma Defenders: Abate, Nesta, Mexes (if possible someone younger and experienced), Thiago Silva, Zambrotta, Bonera, Vila, Taiwo Midfileders: Gattuso, Pirlo, Ambrosini, Seedorf, Boateng, Lazzari/A.Poli (Best time to snap him up), Emmanuelson, Van Bommel Attackers: Ibrahimovic, Pato, Ganso, Cassano, Robinho and Inzaghi.

My First XI ( 4-3-1-2) : Abbiati, Abate, Nesta/Mexes, Taiwo, Boateng, Pirlo, Lazzari/Poli, Ganso, Pato, Ibrahimovic.

Second Team (4-3-2-1) : Marchetti, Zambrotta, Bonera, Mexes, Vila, Gattuso, Van Bommel, Ambrosini, Cassano/Seedorf , Robinho, Inzaghi.

This way we have a side that is a mixture of both youth and experience and more importantly two players for every position.

Its very easy to write an article and be critical of the board over the players to be signed but all we can do is hope that if not a lot, they at least make a few necessary changes to challenge for the Champions League.

Ist mMn immer noch einer der 10 besten IV der Welt, so jemanden darf man wegen paar Euro nicht eghen lassen, zudem ist er inzwischen eine Milan-Ikone.

Bei Pirlo hineggen ist es anders, der will wohl noch das große Geld, dass er bei uns nicht bekommen wird. Von daher darf er voon mir aus ruhig gehen wenn man guten Ersatz holt..

Ambro wird denke ich verlängern.

Seedorf sollte man mMn einen 1-Jahresvertrag zu konditionene mit guten Boni gebene, sprich pro Einsatzzeit und Tor. Das wäre für alle Seiten das Beste.

Stimme dir da völlig zu. Allerdings habe ich irgendwie Angst, dass man keinen guten Ersatz für Pirlo bekommt. Nesta unbedingt halten!
