Rapid’s sporting director Hoertnagl told Austrian newspaper Kurier of the impasse surrounding the move after talks with Bain on Thursday. “There has been no resolution,” he said. “Jelavic must focus on the game this Sunday. There is time for him to move to Rangers yet.”

Now why would he go and say something like that?

OKay I checked, Kurier wrote

"Jelavic soll sich auf das Spiel am Sonntag bei Sturm konzentrieren. Mal schauen, was von den Rangers noch kommt."

Litteraly:

"Jelavic should focus on the game on Sunday against Sturm. Let's see what will still come from the Rangers."

Who knows wheter the quots of Jela in Scotish papers were true at all....

Ja jetzt wart bitte ein bisschen. Bei Hinum war es auch schon seit Februar sicher, dass er bei Rapid ist, und veröffentlicht wurde es im Juli.

Jelavic muss verkauft werden, mehr oder weniger, und er ist sich mit den Rangers auch schon einig, einzig allein ein paar zerquetschten scheitert es.

Mir wäre auch lieber wenn der ganze Deal scheitert, aber bei unserer Geldnot, wird er nicht scheitern.

Am liebsten wäre mir ja ein Jelavic-Verkauf um 6 Millionen Euro (vielleicht steigt das Pfund ja übers Wochenende ordentlich an) und ein Aufstieg über Aston Villa. Was dann in den Rangers-Foren wohl los wäre.

I see no reason to pick up a fight about the outcome of the negotiations. It is very likely that Nikica eventually plays at Ibrox.

The most important thing for me personally, and probably for many other Rapid fans, is that our club receives an appropriate amount and states that we are not a "discount shop" for valuable players.

How can Jelevic sign a contract when the two clubs have not agreed on the value of the player?
