sicher? in birmingham mussten wir nicht auf die noch kommenden flieger warten. das wär ja schon ein bisserl fad, wenn wir da möglicherweise stundenlang am flughafen warten müssten...

hab ich da in birmingham was nicht mitbekommen? wir sind doch alle gemeinsam vom flughafen in die innestadt geführt worden oder? außer der zweitagesflieger halt, weil die waren ja schon dort...

ich glaub, in schwechat selbst muss man für's parken zahlen.

aber: zonengrenze und ausreichend großer gratis-schotter-parkplatz ist beim bahnhof kaiserebersdorf - ist direkt bei der stadtgrenze, nach der unterführung (von simmering kommend) in schwechat u-turn nach rechts auf die klederinger straße machen und dort dann in die sackgasse einfahren. führt direkt zum parkplatz bzw. bahnhof.

hab ich selbst bei meinem letzten flug so gemacht und kann's nur empfehlen!

in schwechat gibts kurzparkzonen, allerdings nicht überall. glaube, dass man am parkplatz beim bahnhof kostenlos parken kann, bin mir da aber nicht mehr ganz sicher. ansonsten findet sich in den umliegenden gassen sicherlich irgendwo ein platzerl.

hm, ich hab mir eingebildet, dass wir ziemlich schnell nach ankunft mit dem bus losgefahren sind (tagesflieger 2). aber vielleicht hast du auch recht, hab darauf eigentlich nicht so genau geachtet.

in birmingham sind definitiv nicht alle gemeinsam in die innenstadt geführt worden. die erste maschine die von wien gestartet ist war ca 45min vor den anderen in der innenstadt.

ok, hab ich nicht gewusst bzw wär mir nicht aufgefallen weil ja mehrere busse gleichzeitig weggefahren sind richtung innenstadt. dann wirds wohl in glasgow auch so sein...

heute bezahlt, bin im tagesflieger 4, der gott sei dank von wien fliegt. 7:30 uhr treffpunkt (abflug 9 uhr) ist im vergleich zur birmingham-reise ja sehr angenehm.

freu mich auch noch über die deutlich angenehmerer zeit.

There are four days left of the build-up before Celtic take on Rapid Vienna at Parkhead and the smell coming off this fixture is going to get worse. It isn’t healthy for a football match to be spun as an opportunity for vengeance and retribution. Celtic supporters haven’t had this game presented to them as a tie in the 2009 Europa League. Instead it might as well be the winter of 1984. The bottle on the pitch, the Rapid player feigning injury, the enforced replay, the nastiness of Old Trafford, the elimination from the cup: are we missing something here? Did all of this happen yesterday?

At the end of last week senior figures within Celtic became more and more concerned at the scale and tone of the coverage of this match. Frank McGarvey had poured petrol on the flames with a sequence of quotes, each one more outrageous than the last, about how the mere mention of Rapid Vienna reduced him to a state of paralysed nausea. He has been rabid about Rapid. His remarks found their way back to Austria where Rapid spokesman Sharif Shoukry eventually said “enough is enough” and accused McGarvey of making the situation worse and jeopardising the safety of the 2500 visiting supporters in Glasgow this week. McGarvey weighed in by calling them cheats and liars again.

He wasn’t the only one. Everyone seems to have joined the queue to mouth off about the Austrians and Celtic themselves weren’t blameless. Because there were tickets to flog, the club made Peter Grant available to the press to talk about Rapid Vienna knowing full well that some angry stuff about 1984 would come spilling out again. Every new quote, every page of coverage has helped to whip everyone up just a little more. There will be much more of the same when the Rapid squad flies into Glasgow and then when manager Peter Pacult, who scored the dastardly goal which knocked Celtic out in Manchester, has his pre-match press conference on Wedneday. The chances of Thursday morning headlines which don’t hark back to 1984? Zero.

Imagine if the Old Firm played each other only once every five years? That is the sort of release that the Parkhead crowd will get by letting rip at Rapid. What concerns Celtic about all of this is just how this righteous anger is expressed. From start to finish the fans will howl and whistle and jab their fingers at the Rapid players, management, directors and supporters. All of that is noisy and ugly but essentially harmless. But what if it goes beyond that? That is what is already worrying some within Celtic.

Internal talks took place at Parkhead on Friday about how to dampen the hype

Celtic won a Uefa Fair Play award for their supporters’ behaviour around the Uefa Cup final in 2003 but a dark night in the east end cannot be compared to the sunny bonhomie of Seville. More to the point, Uefa’s file on Celtic has been updated since then. In 2007 the club was fined when a supporter leapt from a stand and slapped the AC Milan goalkeeper, Dida. Another fan invaded the pitch at home to Manchester United in 2008 and Celtic were hit by a total Uefa punishment of £42,430. There is no suspended fine hanging over them at the moment but a third incident in as many years would land the club in real trouble. That is why internal talks took place at Parkhead on Friday afternoon about how to dampen the hype in the last few days before the game.

There will be around 680 stewards on duty on Thursday night. That isn’t any more than usual for a capacity crowd at Parkhead but this isn’t any ordinary European tie. It’s pretty obvious that some nutcase with a drink in him could temporarily lose the plot and do something which could have serious consequences for Celtic. There should be no repeat of Old Trafford, when a replay staged in a horrible atmosphere saw the Rapid goalkeeper attacked in his net by a supporter and another of their players heavily kicked by a fan as he ran off the pitch. Celtic were fined by Uefa for that and ordered to play their next home European tie behind closed doors. If that happened these days they’d be banned from Europe.

Thousands of people who will be inside Parkhead on Thursday night weren’t even born when this whole sorry episode took place. On Thursday the real guilty men from Rapid will be back in Austria, 1000 miles away, leaving their innocent descendents to take the flak for them. Who knows if the guy who started it all by lobbing the bottle will be in Parkhead again? No-one is asking supporters at Parkhead to forget or forgive but they are going to have to control themselves and that’s where the anger management comes in. How stupid, how totally mindless it will be if a 25-year-old scar is opened up to create new wounds.

Tomorrow evening we will be able to confirm that Henry McLeish is alive and well. Seven months after being named as the head of an SFA review committee into the state of Scottish football, the former First Minister will shed his invisibility cloak and join Gordon Smith and others at a “Question Time”-style public forum at Stirling University. Around 250 people are going to be there, hopeful of some insights. I suspect Henry’s answers will demonstrate how he went so far in politics.

Flieger nach Glasgow: 47 Plätze

Am vergangenen Samstag endete die Reservierungsfrist - jene Fans, die sich für Plätze in den Fliegern nach Glasgow angemeldet hatten, konnten bis dahin ihre reservierten Karten bezahlen und bei uns in der Geschäftsstelle abholen.

Leider machten 47 Personen keinen Gebrauch davon - und somit haben wir ebenso viele Plätze plötzlich wieder frei. Dies betrifft sowohl den Zweitagesflieger, wie auch die Tagesflüge.
