London - Der britische Schauspieler Sean Bean ("Golden Eye", "Herr der Ringe") will mit 100 anderen Fans mittels einer parlamentarischen Anfrage für Premier-League-Absteiger Sheffield United und gegen West Ham United kämpfen. West Ham, das seit Wochen wegen der Affäre um die argentinischen Stars Carlos Tevez und Javier Mascherano unter Beschuss steht, hatte sich durch ein 1:0 bei Meister Manchester United vor dem Abstieg gerettet, Tevez das entscheidende Tor erzielt.

West Ham war wegen des Verstoßes gegen Transferregeln zu der Rekordgeldstrafe von acht Millionen Euro verurteilt worden. Etliche Konkurrenten forderten Punktabzüge - wie nun auch Bean & Co. Die Sanktionen waren für die Verpflichtung von Tevez und Mascherano ausgesprochen worden, weil damit die Regel gebrochen worden sei, dass keine dritte Partei die Politik oder Leistungsfähigkeit eines Vereins beeinflussen dürfe (die Transferrechte an Tevez und Mascherano hatte eine Investmentgesellschaft gehalten.

Uniteds Vorstandschef Kevin McCabe meinte, er werden den Kampf weiterführen, wenn nötig bis vor den Europäischen Gerichtshof. (APA)

Naja, so einfach kann man das nicht "abtun". Versuch' einfach mal, Dich in die Lage von Sheffield zu versetzen. Würdest du die "Chance" nicht auch nutzen wollen? Es geht um viel Geld.

Es ist natürlich rein spekulativ aber ich denke, dass die meisten Vereine so handeln würden.

West Ham are ready to cause havoc in the transfer market by blocking attempts to snap up Carlos Tevez. The Argentina star is being touted with a £40m price tag, and advisor Kia Joorabchian is in talks with several sides in a bid to move the 23-year-old along.

But the Hammers are reported in the Daily Star to be ready to clamp down on any moves by Joorabchian - because they now own his registration. FIFA rules state a switch can only be ratified once a buyer is in possession of a player's registration and documents show that Tevez is registered to West Ham until 2010. Joorabchian is reported to have been surprised at the lack on contact from Upton Park since the end of the season - when Tevez scored the winning goal at Old Trafford that kept the Hammers in the top flight.

The West Ham board feel the players is theirs and want him at the club next seasson and they can now either order him back for pre-seaon training or demand a huge slice of any transfer fee for Tevez. And with Joorabchian and his MSI group believing they own the sole rights of the player, the matter could yet up in court.

Darren Bent has attracted interest from several clubs

Charlton striker Darren Bent has turned down a move to West Ham after the two clubs agreed a fee.

"We set a valuation for Darren and West Ham were the only club prepared to meet that valuation," said Charlton chief executive Peter Varney.

"This morning we gave them permission to speak to Darren, which he did, and he has decided not to join West Ham."

West Ham and Spurs were thought to be at the centre of a battle to sign Charlton's £17m-rated forward.

But the Addicks, who were relegated from the top flight last season, now expect Bent to stay with them.

"We look forward to Darren starting with us in the Championship next season, which is a massive boost to our chance of returning to the Premier League."

West Ham boss Alan Curbishley had reportedly offered midfield man Hayden Mullins to Charlton in a bid to clinch the move.

If Bent had decided to join West Ham he would have rejoined manager Alan Curbishley, who spent £2.75m to bring the striker to Charlton from Ipswich two years ago.

A West Ham spokesman confirmed the deal was not moving forward, adding: "A fee had been agreed between West Ham and Charlton but it was not possible to reach an agreement with the player.

"West Ham have been considering a number of options in terms of a new striker for the club and will now be pursuing alternatives."

bist du echt so naiv..? Ich hoffe ja fast, dass nächstes Jahr 21 Teams in der PL spielen würden, sodass wir die Bramall Lane in ihre Einzelteile zerlegen könnten.

Egg 'moves on' after Bent woe

West Ham supremo Eggert Magnusson has been encouraged by fans who feel the £17million move for Darren Bent was "not the best deal we could do."

The Hammers had lined up a deal for Bent, 23, which would have smashed the club's transfer record. But the England striker decided against a switch to Upton Park and is thought to be interesting Tottenham. "The deal we put in place seemed to work for everybody concerned," Magnusson said. "Throughout the negotiations all the signs were positive. Therefore I was surprised when I learned that Darren had decided not to join us. I feel let down and disappointed. But it is time to move on. "In the aftermath of this I have been encouraged by the reaction of our supporters. They appreciate the efforts we made and some of the feedback suggests they are less disappointed than I thought they might be. The view seems to be that perhaps this wasn't the best deal we could do at this stage. I'd like to think the experience will eventually stand us in good stead and there's no doubt about it, lessons have been learned."

Magnusson also dismissed claims of soaring wages at Upton Park. Reports that the Hammers' spending was out of control, with Australia international Lucas Neill earning £72,000 a week, were denied by Magnusson, who insisted no player at Upton Park enjoys a weekly wage of more than £55,000 a week. And, although Magnusson admits he is prepared to breach the club's wage ceiling for the right player, he warned there is "no bottomless pit of money". He told the club's website: "West Ham United is very much in the spotlight at the moment. I totally accept that as chairman of a club with ambition and drive. However, I am disappointed that there is a widespread belief that the club has a bottomless pit of money to spend on transfer fees and player wages. This is a great football club which will be run on sensible business lines to build a secure, long-term future. That includes our policy on players' wages, set at a ceiling of £55,000 a week. Despite figures being circulated in the game, no player at West Ham United earns more than that at present. Of course, as an ambitious club we will react to the marketplace, in common with most other football clubs. If the right player comes along at the right price, then we will look at that, but we want players who want to play for West Ham United."

Trifft mich auch nicht wirklich, dass Bent nicht kommt. Die 17m kann man auch besser investieren. So zum Beispiel: 5m + Benayoun an Liverpool für Bellamy; 10m an Chelsea für SWP und an Charlton verkauf ma noch Mullins für 2m. Würd somit nur 13m in Anspruch nehmen.

Hammers fans want Neill to lead

IF the West Ham fan page is an indication, Lucas Neill will captain the Hammers next season. After only 12 games in the claret and blue strip, he appears to have won over the club's hard-core supporter base.

Eigentlich solltet ihr Punkteabzug bekommen, weil ihr jedermanns Zeit verschwendet und mittlerweile jedem am Nerv geht (WHU, PL, EU-Kommission..)

Und auf der einen Seite sagst du immer du bist froh wenns vorbei ist, und dann bists aber immer du der dieses Thema hervorruft. Wenn man sich dann rechtfertigt, gilt man als nervöser Hammer und dann kommen Sprüche wie "naja, wems gefällt; Zirkus is eh bald vorbei..". Was denn nun?
