Almiron-Tiago, la Juve fa il centrocampo

La Juventus è ad un passo dal chiudere due operazioni di mercato che le permetterebbero di presentare nel prossimo campionato una nuova coppia di centrocampisti, Sergio Almiron e Tiago.

L'argentino dell'Empoli e il portoghese del Lione sono infatti ormai ad un passo dall'approdare in bianconero e costituire la coppia di mediani nel 4-2-3-1, schema sul quale Claudio Ranieri vuole costruire la Juventus 2007-2008.

L'operazione di Almiron è quella in stato più avanzato e l'annuncio ufficiale per l'acquisto del sudamericano da parte del club torinese potrebbe arrivare già nelle prossime ore.

I termini dell'operazione sono infatti ormai stati fissati: l'argentino passerà alla Juventus in cambio della comproprietà Matteo Paro e Rey Volpato, del prestito di Sebastian Giovinco e di un conguaglio economico intorno ai 4 milioni di euro.

La Vecchia Signora ha poi fatto grossi passi in avanti anche per Tiago del Lione: a due anni dal suo arrivo nella formazione francese, il portoghese pare ormai destinato a trasferirsi all'ombra della Mole per una cifra intorno ai 15 milioni di euro.

Conferme in questo senso arrivano sia dal direttore della comunicazione del club transalpino, Olivier Blanc, che dal direttore amministrativo dell'OL, Marino Faccioli.

"La trattativa prosegue e Tiago si sta avvicinando sempre più alla Juventus", ha detto Blanc e dello stesso tono sono state le parole utilizzate da Faccioli per spiegare la situazione.

"Ufficialmente non possiamo dire che l'operazione sia chiusa ma solo perché ci sono ancora alcuni dettagli da sistemare: tuttavia, in maniera semi-ufficiale, si può dire che Tiago andrà alla Juventus", ha dichiarato il direttore amministrativo.

Per quanto riguarda infine i due giocatori, per Almiron ci sarebbe un quadriennale da 1.5 milioni a stagione più premi, mentre l'accordo di Tiago dovrebbe essere della stessa durata ma con un ingaggio più alto di almeno 500mila euro.

Tiago to join Juve, say Lyon

French champions Lyon have revealed that Juventus are very close to signing midfield ace Tiago.

The Bianconeri have been paired with the Portuguese star over the past few weeks after the player himself admitted that his time with the Ligue 1 outfit was over.

“We cannot say that a deal has been finalised, but that is only because there are a few details that still need to be clarified,” said Lyon official Marino Faccioli.

“However, we can semi-officially say that Tiago will join Juventus.”

Bianconeri director general Jean-Claude Blanc has also confirmed that negotiations are underway to bring the 26-year-old to the Stadio Olimpico.

“We are working on this operation and Tiago is moving closer to Juventus,” he declared.

The international turned down the offer of a contract extension at Christmas and is valued at £12m by chief Jean-Michel Aulas.

Tiago, a reported target for Milan as well, joined Lyon in 2005 after appearing for Sporting Braga, Benfica and Chelsea.

The midfielder contributed to his club’s record sixth straight League title last term and played an important role in the Portugal side that reached the semi-finals of last summer’s World Cup.

Juventus are also on the verge of signing Empoli star Sergio Almiron, whose capture is expected to be announced shortly.

Real join Milito chase

Juventus’ proposed capture of Real Zaragoza stopper Gabriel Alejandro Milito may be complicated by Real Madrid.

Both sides want the Argentine international with the Old Lady of Italian football seemingly in pole position.

However, a report in Spain on Tuesday claims that Real could still launch a bid for the defender – even after he joins the Bianconeri.

According to AS, Real sporting director Predrag Mijatovic is ready to contact the Italian club where they will offer Juve cash and Fabio Cannavaro in return.

The Golden Ball winner may quit Spain this summer if rumours suggesting that Coach Fabio Capello will be sacked – in favour of Bernd Schuster – turn out to be true.

The Merengues are reportedly willing to part with Cannavaro, who left Juve last summer, and are ready to offer his services plus £12m to sign Milito.

Nevertheless, the chances of such a transfer taking place look slim. Juventus are unlikely to waste their effort signing the South American and then letting him go almost immediately.

Cannavaro’s agent, Gaetano Fedele, is also adamant that the 2006 World Cup winning captain is going nowhere.

“I think Cannavaro’s return to Italy is unlikely,” he said. “He likes it in Madrid and I don’t think Capello’s destiny will change his position in any way.

“We have been contacted by Juventus recently, but only because they wanted to congratulate us for the Liga title and we did the same for their return to Serie A.”

Fiorentina make Gila bid

Fiorentina have reportedly made a £10m offer for Milan’s Alberto Gilardino – even if the striker would seemingly favour a switch to Juventus.

The World Cup winner has been linked with a summer exit after insisting recently that he didn’t feel the full faith of the club.

Although the two parties then ironed out their differences during crunch talks, the arrival of David Suazo may prove to be the final straw for Gilardino.

As a result, Fiorentina have allegedly made a £10m offer for the Italian international at the request of Coach Cesare Prandelli.

The tactician was in charge at Parma when the former Verona youngster exploded on to the Serie A scene with goals galore.

Prandelli rates Gila as one of the best attackers in Italy and the Della Valle family, who own the club, are ready to offer him a four-year contract worth £2.2m per season.

However, Milan would want closer to £17m for the hitman and the player himself is keener on joining Juventus should he move on.

The Bianconeri have been linked with the Rossonero for a while and Claudio Ranieri would be happy to welcome the player to the Stadio Olimpico – especially if David Trezeguet moves on.

Roma buy Pizarro outright

MILAN - F.C. Internazionale and A.S. Roma have reached an agreement over the player David Marcelo Cortes Pizarro. Previously co-owned by the two clubs, the Chilean midfielder will become a Roma player from 1 July 2007. Inter will gain 5.75 million euros (VAT excluded) from the deal.
