Er sieht halt nicht ein, dass ein Stürmer, der seit März kein Tor mehr gemacht hat, in der PL seit Februar, nicht erste Wahl sein kann. Zur Zeit spricht alles für einen Wechsel und ich bin mir sicher in Spanien (Valencia?, Barca?) würde er gross einschlagen. Nur bei uns hat er einfach zuviele Chancen vergeben.

hm, wär schon schade um ihn, kämpft/rackert immer bis zum schluss... allerdings braucht er wirklich immer sehr viele chancen bis ihm mal ein treffer gelingt schade, dass der (noch) nicht zu seiner form der euro zurück gefunden hat...

jez wo cissè schön langsam wieder in form kommt, dürfts wohl eng für ihn werden...

Also als nicht so Liverpool-Insider wie ihr es seid (schleimschleim ) muss ich sagen das mir dieses Team immer besser gefällt.Scheinbar hat man mit Benitez einen wahren Glücksgriff gemacht,der Mann scheint sein Fach zu verstehen,was mich aber vor allem verwundert (positiv) sind die Spieler die er zu Liverpool holen will.Die würden mMn alle wunderbar reinpassen (Kuyt!!,Milito,etc...),auch die die er bisher geholt hat...Luis Garcia ist einfach ein Traum!

Werd jetzt wohl mal des öfteren im Liverpool Sred vorbeischauen...

The Rumour Mill's raison d'être is titillation - it endeavours to grab your interest with "salacious" speculation on the comings and goings of a bunch of very dull people you may or may not have heard of. Indeed, throw in the fact that today's tell-all is presented by an Irishman who (a) will never get to sleep with Kelly Brook no matter how much he flirts with her and (b) whose laboured gags aren't half as funny as he thinks they are, and you could be forgiven for thinking you were watching an episode of Celebrity Love Island.

And with that painstakingly contrived intro out of the way, let's move swiftly along to the love shack where viewers of a queasy disposition are invited to cover their eyes, lest the sight of Mick McCarthy slobbering all over giant Czech Jan Koller should make them nauseous. In a move which suggests the spectre of Peter Reid still looms large over the Stadium of Light, the Sunderland manager is currently talking to Borussia Dortmund with a view to signing the towering 32-year-old hulk for £1.5m. And with West Brom gaffer Houdini Robson also sniffing around, a Dortmund spokesman has said: "A deal is possible. Koller would prefer Sunderland because he would be more likely to play."

Speaking of giants, Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has been standing on the shoulder of Peter Crouch imploring him to sign for Liverpool. The endearingly goofy Southampton beanpole (he has a great touch for a big man, don'tcha know) will be accidentally bumping his head off Liverpool's famous "This is Anfield" sign next season if his suitors can come up with £6m. Three words spring to mind: "Goodbye", "Milan" and "Baros".

In the wake of their most barren goal-scoring run in 15 years, Manchester United want Michael Owen. According to today's super, soaraway Sun, the unsettled Real Madrid striker is prepared to listen to Sir Alex Ferguson's overtures, while his club will let him go for £15m, almost twice as much as they paid for him.

Like a Hollyoaks has-been on a reality TV show who won't take no for an answer, Chelsea are more determined than ever to get into bed with Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o. With Barca president Juan Laporte having made it clear that he would not sell the Cameroon striker for "all the money in the world", Roman Abramovich is set to call his bluff by offering him exactly that.

Elsewhere, Steve "Pippa" Bruce, kindly matron at the Birmingham City home for delinquents, waifs and strays is prepared to overlook the shocker of a season Nicky Butt's just endured at Newcastle by making room for him at St Andrews. Across the city, Aston Villa manager David O'Leary has been texting sweet nothings to Chelsea's Scott Parker and looks set to table a £6m bid for the midfielder some say has a great future behind him. He should fit in well at Villa Park, then.

Elsewhere in the midlands, West Brom's Bryan Robson has finally wrung the last of the champagne out of his best bib and tucker and slapped a £20m price tag on Zoltan Gera, one of the revelations of the season. If that doesn't get slimy Chelsea suit Peter Kenyon sniffing hungrily around the Hungarian, nothing will.

And finally, just as Celebrity Love Island has done little more than provide conclusive proof that the UK's most lusted-after celebs actually look like dogs' dinners when there's no stylists around to make them look small-boned and purdy, Teddy Sheringham has provided conclusive proof that managing a Championship football team isn't actually as attractive a proposition as we all think by turning down the job at Millwall.

And on that Springer-esque thought for the day, that's yer lot from this week's Celebrity Rumour Island - take care of yourselves ... and each other.

Crouch braucht in meinen Augen kein Hund, vor allem um diesen Preis. Was ich aber sehr spassig finde, ist das Owen zu United Gerücht, da könnt soch der gute Mickey nach seiner hinterfotzigen Wehcselsaga letzte Saison wohl auf einiges gefasst machen, sollte er neben Rooney in Anfield im Buccaneers-Dress auflaufen...

Arsenal steht angeblich kurz vor einer Einigung mit dem R.C. Strasbourg Stürmer Mamadou NIANG (keine offizielle aber für mich immer recht zuverlässige Quelle)

Dennis Bergkamp _Holland_ hat einen weiteren 1-Jahres Vertrag angeboten bekommen und diesen auch schon unterzeichnet. (BBC)

Ashley Cole hat ebenfalls nach dem FA Cup zugesichert die nächste Saison im Arsenal-Dress zu spielen - Gerüchten zu Folge wird sogar an einer Vertragsverlängerung gebastelt (SKY)

Brazilian wonderkid Robinho admits that Arsenal have been in contact with his representatives about a sensational move for the Santos man.

Robinho has long been touted as the next big star to emerge from the historically football rich grounds of Brazil, and both Real Madrid and Chelsea are believed to hold a strong interest.

The 21-year-old has broken in to the Brazilian national setup after consistently dazzling displays for Santos, and has been praised by Pele amongst others for his prodigious technique and ability.

Despite initially remaining cautious about interest from Arsene Wenger's side, Robinho has now conceded that he is in talks with The Gunners and would love to play alongside French star Thierry Henry.

"Arsenal have been in touch with my people in the last few days and they have made me aware of the offer," Robinho told the News of the World.

"I am very proud that they are looking at me because a club like Arsenal doesn't come in for you every day.

"It would be a dream for me to play alongside Thierry Henry, we will continue to talk."

Arsenal will reportedly launch a £14 million bid for his services, and if Robinho makes the move to Highbury he would join the likes of Robin van Persie and Jose Antonio Reyes in a strike-force blessed with fledgling talent.

Arsenal are ready to test Marseille's resolve over their teenage starlet Samir Nasri.

The 17-year-old has emerged on the first team scene this season and has impressed, although he lost his place in Phillipe Troussier's team towards the end of the season.

Nasri is reported to have become a bit disgruntled with life on the bench and, despite his tender years, is now considering his future.

The playmaker has been trailed by a host of English clubs with Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle all keeping tabs on his progress.

However, Arsene Wenger and his French scouts are known to have been impressed with Nasri and are now considering an offer - although they may yet baulk at the asking price which is understood to be in excess of €10 million.

Die englische Premier League hat am Mittwoch Meister Chelsea, dessen Trainer Jose Mourinho und Arsenals Verteidiger Ashley Cole auf Grund verbotener Vertragsverhandlungen verurteilt.

Das genaue Strafmaß hat der Ligaverband noch nicht bekannt gegeben. Vertreter von Chelsea, darunter auch Mourinho, hatten am 27. Jänner dieses Jahres heimlich in einem Hotelzimmer mit Nationalspieler Cole verhandelt und damit gegen drei Premier-League-Vorschriften verstoßen.

Alle Parteien haben nun zwei Wochen lang Zeit, um Einspruch gegen dieses Urteil zu erheben. Im schlimmsten Fall könnte die Premier League Chelsea für kommende Saison Punkte abziehen.

Im Jahr 2000 hatte es in der Premier League einen ähnlichen Fall gegeben. Liverpool wurde dabei wegen Vertragsverhandlungen mit Christian Ziege (damals Middlesbrough) zu 20.000 Pfund Strafe verurteilt, Ziege musste 10.000 Pfund zahlen.

Die Anwälte von Cole haben darauf hingewiesen, dass das Premier-League-Reglement gegen das europäische Arbeitsrecht verstoße.

Bleibt er jetzt bei Arsenal oder lockt Chelsea mit viel Geld ? Mourinho weiß, dass man nur mit einer Spitzenabwehr Meister wird

Manchester United have agreed a fee with Fulham to sign Dutch international goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar. The 34-year-old has agreed a two-year contract, and will sign after undergoing a medical when her returns from international duty on Thursday.

"The deal is done in principal," agent Rob Jansen told Sky. "It will be finalised in a week.

"Edwin is very happy, it is an honour for him to play for a club like United."

Van der Sar has spent four seasons in the Premiership after joining newly-promoted Fulham from Juventus in a sensational seven-million euro deal.
