Jorly ASB-Legende Beitrag melden Geschrieben 14. The Orlando Magic, unsure about the intentions of franchise player Dwight Howard-who told teammates Wednesday morning he planned to “opt in” and play the final year of his contract–have told Howard he has to get that paperwork into the NBA office by the end of the day, according toba source. Otherwise, the Magic will proceed with potential trade discussions before Thursday’s 3 p.m. deadline. Howard, who has long been expected to opt out of the last year (2012-13) of his deal and become a free agent at season’s end, said after Tuesday’s game with Miami that he wanted to stay with the Magic through the end of the season. It was the first time that Howard-who asked to be traded during training camp- had expressed any desire to stay in Orlando, which has been trying for weeks to convince him to stay. The request was a “complete surprise” to the Magic, according to a league source. So was Wednesday’s declaration. But Orlando is not convinced Howard genuinely wants to stay. The Magic have asked Howard for months to commit just to playing next year. His sudden acquiescence, a day before the trade deadline, is being viewed skeptically by the Magic-hence the demand that both Howard and agent Dan Fegan sign by Wednesday evening. The Magic “can’t roll the dice,” the league source said. http://www.hoopsworld.com/nba-pm-dwight-howard-opting-in-for-one-more-year Did New Jersey Just Get Screwed?: The New Jersey Nets may have just gotten screwed… twice. The word is Dwight Howard called a team meeting in San Antonio and told his teammates that he was staying, and that they all had a role to play in winning a championship this year. He then told the Magic he’d opt-in for the final year of his deal. The Nets, who have been pursuing Howard, are losing out. During All-Star weekend in Orlando a well-connected NBA source who is usually never wrong on such things, exclaimed without hesitation that Deron Williams was going to the Dallas Mavericks in July, and that is was “done”. At the time, the idea seemed so far-fetched; we talked about it, but really didn’t give the idea much credit. On All-Star Sunday, a source close to Dwight Howard was asked about Deron and Dwight being in New Jersey at the trade deadline, and that source at the time said not to call it done, that Deron had “screwed” Dwight. Today, those comments make so much more sense. Wenns stimmt, sind wohl die Nets am Zug: http://www.hoopsworld.com/2012-nba-trade-deadline-diary Steve Kyler – 03/13/12 6:17 p.m. ESTThe New Jersey Nets have a tough decision to make… with word leaking out that Dwight Howard will opt-in to the final year of his contract, the Nets may have lost out on the second star they were hoping to pair with Deron Williams. Nets source say that Deron’s situation is not nearly as connected to Dwight Howard as one might think, and that they are not sold Deron will leave the team even if the club misses on Howard. During All-Star Weekend in Orlando, well connected NBA sources pegged Williams as headed to Dallas if things didn’t come together in New Jersey, so the Nets will have a tough decision to make in the next 20 plus hours. Do the Nets hold on to Williams or do they panic and trade him rather than risk losing him in July? bearbeitet 14. Jorly ASB-Legende Beitrag melden Geschrieben 14. "My soul, everything I have is in Orlando. I just can't leave it behind." Over the course of Wednesday, Howard appeared to be indecisive on his wishes for the 12-13 season in the face of a possible trade from the Magic. The organization informed Howard they would seek a trade if he couldn't give them an assurance of his desire to remain beyond the current season. "I have gotten some bad advice," said Howard. "I apologize for this circus I have caused to the fans of our city. They didn't deserve none of this." Jorly ASB-Legende Beitrag melden Geschrieben 15. März 2012 (bearbeitet) Schon verwirrend hehe. Delayed for a year! Phil Jackson-Knicks-Rumours werden auch schon lauter: http://www.nba.com/video/channels/nba_tv…ls=iref:nbahpt1 Najo, hats sich aber dennoch noch einiges getan (v.a. teilweise Deals, von denen im vorfeld keine rumours zu sehen waren): ------------------> http://www.nba.com/news/transactions/201…cker/index.html Nene moved in three-team deal Wizards get: • F/C Nene • F Brian Cook • Future second-round pick Clippers get: • G Nick Young Nuggets get: • C JaVale McGee • F/C Ronny Turiaf Instant Analysis (March 15): After signing Nene to a new deal shortly after the lockout ended, the Nuggets trade away their starting center, who was in the first year of a five-year, $67 million contract. The loss wipes Nene's 13.4 points and 7.4 boards off the plate and replaces it with the 11.9 points and 8.8 boards from McGee. Young, who is putting up 16.6 points a game, brings a new scoring threat to the Clippers, who are still doing their best to make up for the loss of Chauncey Billups. ----------------- Era comes to end with Lakers Rockets get: • G Derek Fisher • 2012 first-round pick Lakers get: • F/C Jordan Hill Instant Analysis (March 15): Fisher came to the Lakers with Kobe Bryant back in 1996 and were teammates for five NBA championships. That partnership draws to a close as the Lakers choose to move on after acquiring Ramon Sessions in another deadline deal. At 37 years old, Fisher had become a liability in a league with a wide variety of quick, young guards. • Hang Time blog: Trade details -------------- Jackson returns to Spurs Spurs get: • F/G Stephen Jackson Warriors get: • F Richard Jefferson • Conditional first-round pick Instant Analysis (March 15): Jackson, already part of an earlier trade deadline deal between the Bucks and Warriors, reunites with the Spurs after a shortened and rocky stay with the Bucks. A Gregg Popovich favorite from his time with the 2003 NBA champion Spurs, Jackson provides San Antonio with another solid defender and scorer. The Spurs part ways with Jefferson, whose time with the team fell way below expectations. Now he gets a fresh start in Golden State. • Hang Time blog: Trade ------------------ Blazers ship Camby to Rockets Rockets get: • C Marcus Camby Blazers get: • C Hasheem Thabeet • G Jonny Flynn • 2012 second-round draft pick Instant Analysis (March 15): Portland's action at the trade deadline suggests that they are blowing up the team and starting from scratch. According to reports, Camby stressed that if he were to be dealt, his preferred destination was Houston, where he has an offseason home. • Hang Time blog: Trade details ------------ Lakers address point guard position Lakers get: • G Ramon Sessions • F Christian Eyenga • Rights to swap Heat's 2013 first-round draft pick Cavaliers get: • F Luke Walton • 2012 first-round pick Instant Analysis (March 15): In need of a solid, younger point guard, the Lakers make a move by bringing in Sessions, who is averaging 10.5 points and 5.2 assists on the season. The deal to move Walton also frees up considerable cap space for the Lakers. ---------------- • Hang Time blog: Trade details Wallace moves on to Nets Nets get: • F Gerald Wallace Blazers get: • F/C Mehmet Okur • F Shawne Williams • Protected first-round pick Instant Analysis (March 15): Wallace, who is averaging 13.3 points and 6.6 rebounds, is an athletic building block the Nets could try to include in their future plans as they make the move from New Jersey to Brooklyn. Okur, who has been relegated to just 17 games this season because of back injuries, is on an expiring contract and would help free up cap space for the Blazers. ----------- • Hang Time blog: Trade details Pacers pick up Barbosa Pacers get: • G Leandro Barbosa Raptors get: • Second-round draft pick Instant Analysis (March 15): With $14 million in available cap space, the playoff-hungry Pacers get the backcourt scorer that they needed in Barbosa, who should help ease some of the load on backup guards George Hill, who is playing with a sore but healing shoulder, and A.J. Price. Barbosa is averaging 12.2 points on the season.
Jorly ASB-Legende Beitrag melden Geschrieben 16.
