its nice to be here, and we are all very excited for the game.

i would like to apologise for some of our supporters posts- it's summer vacation in here and the school boys are bored...

at first we hoped to get an easier draw because we heard that your team is strong and far more rich then ours. but,it doesn't mean that we are giving up... we have a young and ambitious team that will fight for the spot in the c"l.

i understand that after red bull took over the team there was a big split between your fans- is it true? i'd be happy to hear your opinion about it.

Well you touch upon a pretty hot topic there

After the "takeover", fans made an initiative to keep "their" club. They founded a new club called Austria Salzburg with the old colors etc, claiming that they are "the true" heir of the club.

There were some pretty heated discussions here and i really dont want to roll it up once more but since you are new to this topic, i might as well give it a shot.

So "our version" of the truth is that Red Bull saved Austria Salzburg from financial collapse, built a new stadium and promised successful football in the town. But they changed the colors of the Club and the name "Austria" vanished. This is, of course, sacred to many hardcore football fans, so the fanbase split in half and Red Bull became the hate object for any football fan (at least it seemed like that in here sometimes)

The fans of Austria Salzburg rival the RBS fans now. Red Bull is trying to build up a new fanbase now and bring in the concept of a more family-friendly surrounding in the stadium.

thats my 2 cents to this topic.

But there are a lot of different opinions and i'd like to remind the community here that this thread is about the game, so please dont get cought up in that discussion too long now. I'll keep an eye on it

just thought the same . But anyway the rest of "seppadepp"s posting is my oppinion to. we had many discussions in this forum about that topic and there is no sence in bringing it up again once more.

i want to welcome you to the asb to and i hope for 2 fair and good matches to. might the better team move on to the champions league.

you do not have to appologice for some freaks of your club, every club has got this 12 year old "i am an ultra" group of fans .

well thats not built by redbull . austria (casino) salzburg played in that stadium for several years. redbull just took over the name rights from em-stadion wals-siezenheim to redbull arena.

As you probably know your team is the strongest among the unseeded clubs, so we hoped to get another team, though we still think we have a good enough team and we can make it.

As our lovely coach () says, the chances are 50:50.

i think so to redbull salzburg must have been the horrible choice, when there are unseeded teams like ventspils. salzburg gave them a shoutout 2 years ago in the qualification for the champions league. i also think the chances are 50:50 and its gonna be close games, like always with redbull salzburg in the champions leuague qualification . the good thing is that the looser moves on to the group stage of EL.

for us maccaibi haifa was a good draw, because there were seeded teams like kopenhagen or olympiacos. but its also worser then zürich. i look forward to the games and wish you much fun posting in the asb and maybe visiting the beautiful city of salzburg.

but our team have an european expriance - in 2002 we passed Strum gratz on our way to the c"l. also we had a successful eufa cup campaign in 2006, for exmaple:

3:1 against Auxerre:

1:0 against CSKA Moscow

bottom line- we all belive it is possible, though it will be hard...

Also dass es voll wird kann ich mir beim besten Willen nicht vorstellen, kaum Auswärtsfans und es kommen nicht 30000 Salzburger wenn der Gegner Maccabi Haifa heißt.
