Torres reveals long-term ambition to play in Serie A

If Liverpool are to end their wait for a league title they will have to do it within a "few years" or they will have to do it without Fernando Torres after the Spaniard said yesterday that he would like to play in the Italian league one day. "In a few years' time I would like to play in Serie A," the 25-year-old said. "I would then have played in the three biggest leagues in European football: Spain, England and Italy."

Torres, formerly of Atletico Madrid, said he could not see himself playing at Real. "Real Madrid are not the biggest team in the game. They are a big club but so are Barcelona, Milan, Bayern Munich and Inter. It is not a team that interests me and, because of the time I spent at Atletico Madrid, the opposite could be said. I cannot see myself playing for Real Madrid."

But for now, the Spaniard's aim is a league title with Liverpool. "I would love to remain at Liverpool for many seasons to come," said Torres, who is in the early stages of contract negotiations, although nothing is expected to be finalised until the summer. "I feel at home. I have this season plus another four years left to run on my contract.

"The club has been brilliant with me and I owe the fans. They took to me as if I was one of their own. They treat me in the same way they do Gerrard or Carragher... it is unbelievable. I hope to repay them by giving them a Premier League title. I do not have a buyout clause in my contract, you do not get them in England. Both teams have to reach an agreement before a player can leave his club to sign for another."

er ist ohne zweifel ein sehr guter spieler, aber mir wäre es am liebsten, man würde ihn verkaufen und dafür eine andere verstärkung holen. für mich passt er einfach nicht ins konzept von rafa.

ich kann ihn voll und ganz verstehen. wenn man nach mehreren jahren bei einem spitzenklubkeine meisterschaft gewinnt, ist es natürlich ein Anreiz zu wechseln. vor allem wenn man vor hat in einer anderen großen liga zu spielen

Duie Reds sollen einer Verpflichtung von Mauro ZARATE interessiert sein. Lazio hat soweit ich weiß eine Kaufoption, doch Liverpool könnte da dazwischen funken.

Rein von dem was ich bisher gesehen habe von "Zarate-Kid" wäre er auf alle Fälle eine Verstärkung für die Reds...

Liverpool könnte erst nach dem 30. April was machen. Lazio hat bis zum 30. das alleinige Recht ihn zu verpflichten. Also bis dorthin ist nix mit dazwischen funken.

Danach könnte es losgehen, aber ich gehe davon aus dass Lotito ihn fix verpflichtet.

Bin absoluter Spearing-Fan und hoffe, daß Benitez anstelle von z. B. Lucas öfter Spearing (und auch Stephen Darby) in den Kader bei PL-Spielen beruft. Dieser Wirbelwind hätte sich das schon seit langem verdient.
