Das ist der einzige Vorteil an den ATI-Treibern gewesen: Du musstest den XServer nicht killen um den Treiber zu installieren.

habe auch noch meine mühe, den pri-treiber von n-vidia zu installieren - eben weil 'nouveau' sich nicht so einfach verabschiedet & nvidia verlangt, dass ich als root die x-conf bearbeiten muss bevor ich neu starte;

ich werde nun versuchen, 'make, gcc, & binutils' über synaptic zu installieren, dann alles was geht von nvidia ebenfalls über synaptic;

wechsel in die Konsole = Terminal & melde dich als root an;

du musst dann in das Verzeichnis wo der Treiber liegt;

dann:

sh ./"Name des Treibers".run

Tipp:

die ersten Buchstaben eingeben & Tab. Taste drücken

bin ich net Automatisch a root? :D

Wie soll ich mich da anmelden?

Verzeichnis ist Downloads ...

na ja ich werde es dann am Abend versuchen ... jz bin ich wieder in der Firma :(

nein du bist nicht automatisch 'root';

mit su + root pw

die files, solltest du aber unter einem anderen verzeichnis des roots ablegen, so kommst du schneller zum erfolg;

zB. unter 'home' oder noch besser unter 'etc'

mach dir einen Ordner mit zB. 'Treiber' und installieren diese dort;

wechseln in der Konsole:

su

passwort für root

es steht dann kein $ sondern #

cd /etc/Treiber

ls

und dann wie gesagt:

sh ./**********.run

Welche Meldung kommt denn?

Es kam eigentlich ueberhaupt nix mehr :D

Komplettes System abgesemmelt - Haende weg von Sid!

Hat nimmer gebootet, hab dann nochmal Debian installiert, beim ersten Hochfahren irgendwelche wirren Kernel-Fehlermeldungen und ist dann gehangen.

Schweren Herzens Ubuntu 12.04 eingelegt und installiert, ging dann auch nicht. Also kompletten Rechner formatiert, inklusive /home auf der 2. Platte und nochmal 12.04 draufgeknallt. Jetzt scheints zu gehen.

cd /etc/Treiber

Unter /etc sollten nur die Konfigurationsdateien sein, deine Treiber haben dort nichts zu suchen. Was spricht dagegen die Treiberdatei in deinem Homeverzeichnis zu lassen und dann mit sudo sh $Dateiname auszuführen?

Unter /etc sollten nur die Konfigurationsdateien sein, deine Treiber haben dort nichts zu suchen. Was spricht dagegen die Treiberdatei in deinem Homeverzeichnis zu lassen und dann mit sudo sh $Dateiname auszuführen?

spricht sicher nichts dagegen, dennoch wird es unter linux wurscht sein, ob ich unter /etc/ einen Ordner erstelle oder meinst nicht?

was soll den dort zugreifen...?
