Sagt mal weiß jemand von euch ob die da endlich ein Dach im Auge haben?

Ich zitier einfach mal von TF, weil ich zu faul zum Zusammenfassen bin:

I was just listening to USTA Director at Large Jeff Tarango being interviewed on BBC Radio 5 Live. He says that the USTA has a 'strategic vision' to solve the roof problem.

I assume there will be an official press release forthcoming but he seemed happy to divulge some details.

The plan is to have a roof on Armstrong and then Ashe. However the costs have been spiralling so they will need to have a discussion about how many years the US Open will go while sacrificing its profits to fund it.

He also says that they plan to first demolish the existing Armstrong stadium which will not structurally support the addition of a roof. They will then look at Ashe. Tarango says that Ashe when rebuilt would probably have a smaller seating capacity than at present.

When questioned on timescale all he would say was that they planned to have a roof before the French do. The French plan says 2016 so take that as the date. He says it's a two to three year programme.
