Steven Gerrard could face FA charge over apparent V-sign at referee

Steven Gerrard, could face a Football Association investigation after he appeared to flash a V-sign at the referee Andre Marriner during Liverpool's 1-0 defeat at Wigan Athletic last night.

The England midfielder was booked in the 81st minute of the Premier League match at the DW Stadium following a challenge from behind on James McCarthy, and replays of the incident suggested that Gerrard, the Liverpool captain, had gestured towards Marriner as well as mouthing an obscenity at the official. Marriner did not notice the gesture but the FA may decide that Gerrard, who captained England in their 3-1 friendly victory over Egypt last week, has a case to answer.

Liverpool's manager, Rafael Benítez, speaking after the game, insisted he had not seen the incident. "I don't know, I was too far away," he said.

Beckham hat sich heute (ohne Fremdeinwirkung) die Achillessehen (glaub ich zumindest, kann auch was anderes da unten sein) gerissen und fällt warscheinlich 5-6 Monate aus. Die WM ist damit für ihn gestorben.

David Beckham’s season is over and he’ll probably miss the World Cup after tearing his Achilles tendon. The England star twisted his left ankle strangely during the final minutes of Milan’s 1-0 win over Chievo this evening. He limped heavily off the field and was stretchered off in evident pain and above all in tears.

“He understood straight away that it was a serious problem and he said so immediately. It’s such a great shame,” said Leonardo. “This injury has been a heavy blow for him and for us. Unfortunately the party is ruined.”

He will not be able to play for Milan again this season and it is extremely unlikely that Beckham will recover in time for the World Cup in South Africa.

Beckham hat sich heute (ohne Fremdeinwirkung) die Achillessehen (glaub ich zumindest, kann auch was anderes da unten sein) gerissen und fällt warscheinlich 5-6 Monate aus. Die WM ist damit für ihn gestorben.

Echt schade. Da verzichtet er 2 Jahre mehr oder weniger freiwillig auf seinen "Urlaub" in den USA und wechselt elihweise zu Milan damit er in der Nationalmannschaft bleibt und dann macht eine Verletzung alles zu Nichte. Hab mich geärgert als ich das heute (oder gestern?) gelesen hab

Sieht mir auch nach einem wahltaktischem Manöver aus, nach der Wahl wird man wohl nichts mehr davon hören schätze ich mal.

Ich schmeiß nur mal die 3 Fetzen herein:

Labour versucht sich bei den Fußballfans ( ein beachtliches Wählerpotenzial ) gut zu stellen,

Nach der Wahl will man dann natürlich nichts mehr davon wissen.

Jetzt haben sie wieder starken Gegenwind ( Finanzkrise,Migrationspolitik) also wird wieder versucht Stimmen zu angeln.

Nach der Wahl ist eh alles vergessen, dann interessiert sich keiner der Politiker für die Belange der Fans.

Die Macht das ( Fußball-) System zu ändern liegt sowieso nicht bei der Politik.

Sol war früher auch sehr schnell(ist ja nur eine Angabe des topspeeds), er ist halt nicht wirklich beweglich und "antrittsstark". Drogba ist auch nicht so antrittsstark, dafür beweglicher.

Cesc wundert mich da doch um einiges mehr, da er kein wirklicher Sprinter und auch kein Runner ist.
