ianrush Pass And Move - It's The Liverpool Groove Beitrag melden Geschrieben 22. Juni 2007 (bearbeitet) Sadly there is but one flaw with his plan - namely that Liverpool chief exec Rick Parry has just finished persuading Rafa "Buster" Benítez that Wee Micky will be nearly as good as the Fernando Torres the Reds can't afford. Actually it looks like Parry's got a few more difficult conversations with the gafa to come - turns out the poor exchange rate means Messrs Hicks and Gillett's flimsy "dollars" are too weak to procure Roma's Mancini too, meaning they will have to settle for £4.5m Yossi Benayoun instead. And even then only once they've flogged Scott Carson to Aston Villa for a similar fee. bearbeitet 22. ianrush Pass And Move - It's The Liverpool Groove Beitrag melden Geschrieben 24. Juni 2007 Fifty shopping days till kick offIt's a summer for spending: Thierry Henry's £16m exit from Arsenal is set to spark a frantic period of transfer activity as Premier League clubs, with more cash to burn than ever before, revamp their squads. With just 50 days to go from this weekend to the new season, Observer Sport reveals who's chasing who, and why... Sunday June 24, 2007 The Observer ARSENAL IN L Fabianski, L Warsaw, Undisc; H Nordveit, FK Haugesund, £2m. OUT F Muamba, Birmingham, £4m; M Poom, Watford, free; J Aliadiere, Middlesbrough, £2m; A Lupoli, Fiorentina, free. BIG ISSUE Life after God... what do we do without Thierry? Pray for Samuel Eto'o. THE GOSSIP With £16m of Henry money to spend, and tearful fans desperate for a glitzy replacement, Eto'o continues to be linked - as does West Ham's Carlos Tevez and even old-boy Nicolas Anelka. Also on the shortlist is Ryan Babel - and the 20-year-old Ajax forward says he's keen: 'I like Arsenal's style, how they conduct themselves - everything.' Others still linked are Sporting Lisbon midfield duo Miguel Veloso and Joao Moutinho, right-backs Bakari Sagna of Auxerre and Miguel of Valencia, and West Brom's £10m-rated Curtis Davies. Jose Reyes, meanwhile, will be staying in Spain, with Arsenal demanding £12m from Atletico and Real. ASTON VILLA IN None. OUT J Samuel, Bolton, free; S Henderson, Bristol City, free; G McCann, Bolton, undisc; R Olejnik, Falkirk, free. BIG ISSUE What can Martin O'Neill do with a bit of money? Good question. He hasn't often had that luxury in his managerial career. This is an intriguing challenge for him and the club. But is a bit of money enough to push Villa on? THE GOSSIP O'Neill says strikers are the priority, but will West Ham's Marlon Harewood really set pulses racing? Former Man United flop Diego Forlan is another target, but at £15m he might still be out of their reach and Villarreal say they've had no firm offers. There are also still reports of a £10m bid for Chelsea's Shaun Wright-Phillips, and West Ham's Nigel Reo-Coker remains on O'Neill's list. Feyenoord, meanwhile, have told O'Neill to forget about Holland U21 midfield ace Royston Drenthe BIRMINGHAM IN F Muamba, Arsenal, £4m; S Parnaby, Middlesbrough, free; G O'Connor, L Moscow, £2.6m OUT B N'Gotty, Leicester, free. BIG ISSUE Are the strikers we bought for the Championship good enough for the Premier League? Steve Bruce doesn't seem to think so. He's already added new talent: a £2.65m deal for Lokomotiv Moscow's Garry O'Connor, 24, has been agreed with the Scottish international expected to sign a two-year deal this week. And there's no sign the spending will stop there, particularly if the takeover goes through. THE GOSSIP Bruce could compete with Villa and others for Marlon Harewood and is also one of a number of managers who fancy West Brom duo Diomansy Kamara and Jason Koumas. Koumas's agent Peter McIntosh says: 'Jason has made no secret of the fact that he wants to play at the top.' BLACKBURN IN None OUT None BIG ISSUE Can we keep hold of Benni McCarthy? Unlikely. The more desperate the top clubs are for established strikers as the window heads to a close, the greater the chance Benni will be whisked away. THE GOSSIP Morten Gamst Pedersen's agent says the top five are all chasing his client - so much depends on out-going deals. A permanent move for Shabani Nonda is on the cards and a takeover by American-based businessman Daniel Williams would provide Mark Hughes with some added funds. Jason Roberts, meanwhile, is keen on a move to London - Charlton are interested - and Andy Todd has also been made available. BOLTON IN G Cid, Bordeaux, free; J Samuel, Aston Villa, free; G McCann, Aston Villa, undisc. OUT C Howarth, Carlisle, free; T Ben Haim, Chelsea, free; H Pedersen, free; Q Fortune, free; Cesar, free; D Thompson, free. BIG ISSUE How many are going to leave? Depends on Big Sam, who presumably fancies pinching a few of his old dependables. THE GOSSIP Ricardo Vaz Te is being linked with Derby, El Hadji Diouf fancies a reunion with his former gaffer at Newcastle as does Nicolas Anelka, who's reportedly a target for Man United, Portsmouth, Newcastle and Arsenal. Anticipating an exodus Little Sam is eyeing Liverpool's Djibril Cisse, but Marseille remain favourites for the French striker. Phil Jagielka of Sheffield United is also wanted. CHELSEA IN S Sidwell, Reading, free; C Pizarro, Bayern Munich, free; T Ben Haim, Bolton, free. OUT None BIG ISSUE Can we do it without the money? They are still capable of dining out on the millions spent before this summer's prudence and without last season's injuries would have pushed United harder. The more pertinent question is can they do it without Drogba, Essien and Mikel when the African Nations Cup comes along. THE GOSSIP Despite Abramovich's apparent reluctance to continue his spending they're still linked with almost everyone: Florent Malouda, Philipp Lahm, Daniel Alves, Samuel Eto'o, Miguel, and Fernando Torres among the regulars. More likely are Benni McCarthy, Fulham target Lee Chun-Soo and Portuguese centre-back Jose Ze Castro. PSV's Alex should arrive at some point for a notional 50p, and Silvio Berlusconi remains confident Milan can lure back old boy Andriy Shevchenko DERBY IN None. OUT L Grant, free; P Peschisolido, free; P Boertien, free; M Bisgaard, free; S Cann, free; S Johnson, free; L Ainsworth, free. BIG ISSUE How many of the team that won at Wembley need replacing? Even their own fans reckon only about half can cut it. Derby are desperately seeking experience. There are a number of promising young players in the squad, but proven talent is needed to help them along. THE GOSSIP First in will be West Ham's Tyrone Mears on a permanent deal after an impressive loan spell last season. A move for Robert Earnshaw could follow, but Norwich are reluctant to let their striker go. 'Everyone has their price,' says Norwich boss Peter Grant, 'but he's still our player.' Billy Davies has also expressed an interest in Sheffield United's Michael Tonge and Claude Davis, and is also after Bolton's Ricardo Vaz Te EVERTON IN None OUT None BIG ISSUE How can we stay in a European position now West Ham and Villa have all that money? Let's see what they do with their money first - if £17 million isn't enough to entice Bent to Upton Park it's a worry. If the youth products keep improving, that potentially saves Everton a lot of cash. THE GOSSIP A £7m bid for Preston's David Nugent looks likely, but a move for Stewart Downing was dismissed by Boro manager Gareth Southgate, and Barcelona look to have beaten them to Yaya Toure. Cardiff's Chris Gunter is another target, while a £6.5m deal for Atletico Madrid's Pablo Ibanez has been reported in Spain. But Hannover's Germany U21 midfielder Jan Rosenthal says he's not interested: 'I just don't think about a transfer.' FULHAM IN None. OUT M Collins, Swansea, free; M Crossley, Oldham, free; T Radzinski, free; M Pembridge, free; C Jensen, free. BIG ISSUE Will Chairman Mo find some more money for the new boss? He hasn't so far and didn't have enough to prise Koumas and Kamara from West Brom. Not exactly big spenders routinely and, having installed a boss who works wonders on a shoestring, there's no reason to expect any glamour arrivals. THE GOSSIP Reports claim the biggest deal could be £3m plus Heidar Helgusson for West Brom's Diomansy Kamara. They could also try again for QPR winger Lee Cook, and having been beaten by Chelsea to Lee Chun-Soo, Reading's Seol Ki-Hyeon is an alternative £1m target. There's also talk of swapping Liam Rosenior for Boro's James Morrison. Northern Ireland trio David Healy, Steven Davis and Chris Baird are all also being watched. LIVERPOOL IN Lucas, Gremio, £6m; A Voronin, Bayer Leverkusen, free. OUT F S Pongolle, Recreativo, £2.7m; R Fowler, free. BIG ISSUE Where are the goals going to come from? AN Other striker, who'll have to come in the revolving door sharpish as Craig Bellamy leaves. Over to you, Messrs Hicks and Gillett. THE GOSSIP Benitez looks set to test his chairmen's ambition with a swoop for Fernando Torres, but Atletico Madrid want £27m for the striker - can they really afford it? If not he could turn to Tottenham target Darren Bent or Villa target Diego Forlan, both available for £15m. Djibril Cisse, Sami Hyppia, Jerzy Dudek and Craig Bellamy all look set to move on. Wingers are being linked, so it's probably one or two out of West Ham's Yossi Benayoun, Florent Malouda, Simao and Roma's Mancini MAN CITY IN None. OUT J Barton, Newcastle, £5.8m; S Distin, Portsmouth, free; T Sinclair, free; S Jordan, free; N D'Laryea, free; H Trabelsi, free. BIG ISSUE Can the season start in October? Unfortunately not: it started in late May when deals were already being struck and talks under way by everyone else. Squeaky-bum time already? And that's before Sven's even turned up. THE GOSSIP If the takeover goes through Sven will have a fortune to spend - and Michael Owen is available for only £9m. Thaksin Shinawatra says: 'We could spend £20m, £30m, £50m... we need two more strikers, two more midfielders and then maybe a goalkeeper'. The midfield merry-go-round continues with Nigel Reo-Coker still likely to replace the departed Joey Barton. Sven is also credited with an interest in Shaun Wright-Phillips and Kieron Dyer, as well as Celta Vigo's Borja Oubina MAN UNITED IN O Hargreaves, Bayern Munich, £17m; Nani, Sporting Lisbon, £17m; Anderson, Porto, £13m. OUT None BIG ISSUE How do Carrick and Hargreaves fit into the same midfield? Mostly in the Champions League. This could be the start of United going down the path of using two different teams for domestic and European competition. THE GOSSIP All they want now is a striker -but they've missed out on Fabio Quagliarella after Udinese secured him by buying out Sampdoria's co-ownership. Others linked are Ajax's Klass Jan Huntelaar, Dimitar Berbatov, Samuel Eto'o and Fernando Torres. M'BORO IN J Aliadiere, Arsenal, £2m; Tuncay Sanli, Fenerbahce, free. OUT S Parnaby, Birmingham, free; A Xavier, LA Galaxy, free; M Viduka, Newcastle, free; D Graham, Carlisle, free. BIG ISSUE We've got some money, but have we got the right man to spend it? Boro's generous chairman seems perfectly satisfied with his young manager, but can Gareth Southgate attract any star quality - and keep Yakubu? THE GOSSIP Portsmouth have ruled out involving Gary O'Neil in their bid for Yakubu, and Southgate will resist any bid for Stewart Downing. He's chasing Fulham's Liam Rosenior and Chelsea's Geremi, but looks likely to miss out on Alan Smith to Newcastle. They're favourite for AZ Alkmaar's Icelandic right-back Gretar Steinsson though. NEWCASTLE IN M Viduka, Middlesbrough, free; J Barton, Man City, £5.8m. OUT T Bramble, Wigan, free; A Sibierski, Wigan, free; S Parker, West Ham, £7m; C Moore, free; O Bernard, free; P Srnicek, free. BIG ISSUE Even if we spent £50m would we ever win a trophy? Doubling it might not even be enough to break the curse. Remember, only one non top-four team has won a trophy in the past five seasons (Middlesbrough fly the flag for the rest with a solitary Carling Cup). THE GOSSIP Michael Owen and Obafemi Martins have release clauses in their contracts and the latter could soon be off to Juventus for £13m. Alan Smith could be coming in and Big Sam's quest for some decent defenders has led him to Luke Young, Khalid Boulahrouz and David Rozehnal, with the latter's agent yesterday claiming an agreement is in place. Reports in France, meanwhile, claim Allardyce is also ready to rival Portsmouth for Lyon's Alou Diarra PORTSMOUTH IN S Distin, Man City , free; H Hreidarsson, Charlton, free; S Ali Muntari, Udinese, £7m. OUT None. BIG ISSUE We can't rely on Kanu again - who's going to score the goals? A great rumour linking Harry Redknapp with his old West Ham striker Freddie Kanoute would do the trick. THE GOSSIP Kanoute's agent is encouraging a £7m bid, saying 'I know Freddie wants to return to England and if Portsmouth are interested in him then why wouldn't he want to go there? But he's scored a lot of goals for Sevilla and they want a lot of money for him.' Yakubu is another former Redknapp charge who they're chasing and Marlon Harewood and David Nugent are also targets. Lyon's Alou Diarra is wanted for £5.8m, but Redknapp's denied talk linking them with Lee Cook of QPR and Arsenal's Freddie Ljungberg. And he's lost out to Newcastle in the race for PSG's David Rozehnal READING IN K Cisse, Boavista, Undisc. OUT S Sidwell, Chelsea, free; G Halford, S'land, £2.5m. BIG ISSUE How do we avoid second-season syndrome? A few new faces would shake things up a bit. They might remain quite hard to beat, but without that first-season adrenalin rush they could see the goals dry up. THE GOSSIP Two Coppell targets, strikers Xisco of Deportivo and Jan Koller of Monaco, have talked down moves to Reading. Nicky Shorey is a target for West Ham and Tottenham, but the club has insisted their best players won't be sold. Toulouse winger Fode Mansare could arrive to replace the departing Seol Ki-Hyeon. Coach Wally Downes has asked the fans to be patient: 'There's a long way to go.' SUNDERLAND IN G Halford, Reading, £2.5m. OUT T Miller, free; K Cunningham, free; W Mocquet, free. BIG ISSUE Can Roy Keane use his contacts for a transfer masterstroke? Last season's super-fast rebuilding job to win promotion caught everyone's eye. But plenty of teams have dominated the Championship only to falter straight away in the Premier League. Some higher-calibre talent would go down well. What Keane wouldn't do to bring in a Paul Scholes... THE GOSSIP Talk of Scholes or Ryan Giggs seems unrealistic, while Diego Forlan's £15m price tag puts him outside Keane's range. More likely is a £7m move for David Nugent and a battle with Newcastle for Alan Smith. A first bid for Danny Higginbotham was rejected and Stoke say they won't welcome a second. 'We're not interested in selling.' TOTTENHAM IN G Bale, Southampton, £5m. OUT R Burch, free; C Lee, Peterborough, free. BIG ISSUE How much do we have to spend to get into the top four? Unless one of the above go into liquidation, it's still going to be a tough and expensive task. A central midfielder, winger and goalkeeper of the Berbatov class are required. THE GOSSIP Having successfully fended off interest in Berbatov with a £30m price tag, the £17m arrival of Darren Bent could precipitate Jermain Defoe's departure. Auxerre's Younes Kaboul is close to joining and Jol is back in for Swedish winger Christian Wilhelmsson. More unrealistic moves for Ajax's Wesley Sneijder, Marco Materazzi and Luis Figo look to have failed, with Figo saying 'as for a possible transfer to Tottenham, I can say that there is no truth in this news'. West Brom's Curtis Davies is possible, though. WEST HAM IN S Parker, Newcastle, £7m. OUT None. BIG ISSUE Who scores the goals now Tevez is off? In fairness, Tevez wasn't Senor Predator last season. Zamora's goal ratio in a deeply unsettled team was OK, but West Ham must buy another consistent scorer now the Darren Bent deal has fallen through. THE GOSSIP Tevez looks set for a £30m move away, and Marlon Harewood, Yossi Benayoun and Nigel Reo-Coker will also depart, raising more cash. Having missed out on Bent, Curbishley's turned his attention to Benni McCarthy, while Craig Bellamy and Shaun Wright-Phillips are also targets - both could be available for £10m. Franck Queudrue and Nicky Shorey have also been linked with the club, as has Chelsea's Wayne Bridge WIGAN IN T Bramble, Newcastle, free; A Sibierski, Newcastle, free; M Melchiot, Rennes, free; A Granqvist, Helsingborg, undisc. OUT M Jackson, Watford, free; A De Zeeuw, free; D Unsworth, free. BIG ISSUE With Titus Bramble in defence is there any hope? Not a lot. Wigan fans drifted off last season, but this could be nightmare viewing for those who are sticking it out. THE GOSSIP A £300k move for keeper Carlo Nash is imminent, ending speculation of a return for Roy Carroll. They are one of a host of clubs chasing Marlon Harewood and Jason Koumas so could miss out on both and they could lose Denny Landzaat to Feyenoord or Fiorentina. A Newcastle move for Leighton Baines is off as he was deemed too short by Sam Allardyce. Danny Murphy could come in. 0 Diesen Beitrag teilen Link zum Beitrag Auf anderen Seiten teilen
ianrush Pass And Move - It's The Liverpool Groove Beitrag melden Geschrieben 27. Juni 2007 (bearbeitet) Bulgaria's Nikolay Mihaylov Set to Sign for Liverpool27 June 2007, Wednesday Bulgarian goalkeeper Nikolay Mihaylov passed a medical exam at English Premier League side Liverpool and is set to sign a deal with the club. "Nikolay had a medical and we are waiting for the results right now. If all goes well, he will sign a three-year deal, with an option to extend it for another two seasons," the player's father, Borislav Mihaylov told Darik News by phone from Liverpool. "If the deal goes through, we will hold a press conference when we return tomorrow," Mihaylov-senior said. Liverpool football club are yet to confirm the transfer on its website. Nikolay Mihaylov, 19, started his career at Levski Sofia, for whom he has already played in 13 matches, with his debut coming when he was still a month short of his 17th birthday. He was hailed early in his career as a dead cert future national team goalkeeper, where he would follow in the footsteps of his father Borislav and grandfather Bisser. But his poor performances in the last season made him a figure of ridicule among Levski fans, who accused his father, now head of the Bulgarian Football Union, of nepotism. His worst moment in a Levski shirt came in a Champions League game against Werder, when he failed to control a back-pass from a defender and turned the ball into his own net, then letting in two more goals in the space of five minutes. He ended the season as Levski's third-string goalkeeper after falling out with manager Stanimir Stoilov over his flashy lifestyle and was reported to have signed a deal with Italian Serie A club Fiorentina. Hat sich wohl mit seiner Leistung gegen Werder für uns empfohlen..... bearbeitet 27. Juni 2007 von ianrush 0 Diesen Beitrag teilen Link zum Beitrag Auf anderen Seiten teilen
