Are the Bears ready for Rex Grossman twice a year?

The former quarterback named the Detroit Lions as one of the more interesting teams he has an eye on as he heads to free agency.

Grossman called Calvin Johnson one of the best, if not the best wide receiver in the league, said he'd like playing home games in a dome and lauded new Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan.

The salary cap will grow in 2009.

Because teams didn’t spend as much as they were supposed to under the collective bargaining agreement the past three years, teams were notified Wednesday that the salary cap will increase over $4 million to $127 million for this coming year, according to sources with two NFL teams.

It defies the recession and logic, but just before free agency, teams actually will have more flexibility and salary-cap room. This is tremendous news for teams such as the Colts and Panthers, who are pressed against the cap, and not such good news for teams such as the Buccaneers and Chiefs, who were way under the cap. Now their advantage is somewhat compromised.

Teams believed they would see a mild increase in the salary cap, but this is bigger than teams expected.

It appears that linebacker Bart Scott and the Ravens are moving closer to possibly getting a deal done before the midnight deadline Friday for free agency. If the Ravens sign Scott, where does that leave Pro Bowl middle linebacker Ray Lewis?

Ravens haben Lewis anscheinend $24 Millionen für 3 Jahre angeboten ($17 Mio. guaranteed). Take it or leave it. Scott hat wohl auch schon ein Angebot auf dem Tisch, will sich aber noch umsehen was die anderen Teams so bieten.

Trotzdem great Signing imho wenn er seine 4 YPC behält.

Baker auch eher ungewiss was der so drauf hat.

(Taylor hat NOCH nicht unterschrieben und verhandelt immernoch mit dem Team)

Erinnert irgendwie ans Red Sox FO ... Wirds also schön viel Defense gedrafted bei den Pats =D

LA plant übrigens schon ein NFL Stadion - Wenn die Hornets relocated werden, dann werden die Saints wohl in NO bleiben, sonst sind die für mich No. 1 Kanidat für den Move nach LA

Vrable wsl. zu den Chiefs für einen Draft Pick (welchen weiss man nicht)

Damit 4 Mio Cap Room mehr frei...

An die Peppers Sache glaub ich nicht wirklich.. Aber es is schön zu sehen, dass man für einen Spieler wie Vrable in dem Alter sogar noch was bekommt
