Silvio Berlusconi Forces Ronaldinho To Stand On A Table & Make A Promise - Report

Berlusconi instructs, the Brazilian performs as the Italian chief lays down the law at Milanello...

Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has showed the squad who's boss after making Ronaldinho stand on a table and promise his allegiance to the club, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The drama unfolded at Milanello on Sunday just before the 2-0 friendly win over local side Varese. Berlusconi told 'Dinho to stand up on a table in front of everyone and make a promise.

"Promise that you will behave like a professional next season," the supremo told the number 80 as reported by Gazzetta.

The Brazilian obliged and it showed just minutes later on the pitch as he performed his magic tricks, setting up Filippo Inzaghi for one of the goals.

Berlusconi appears to have given Ronaldinho the responsibility of taking over from Kaka whose Real Madrid move has left a big hole in the team.

Leonardo is also expecting his man to make an effort this season as the Rossoneri aim for the Champions League after failing to qualify for it last year.

"Ronaldinho? He is working to save petrol for next season and he has to be consistent in order for us to evaluate his major talent. His destiny is in his own hands," Leonardo told Milan Channel.

Gattuso: Milan incomplete

Gennaro Gattuso agrees with Coach Leonardo that Milan “are missing something” in every area of the team.

While the club continues to maintain its transfer strategy is sound and only a centre-forward is required – if at all – the murmurs within the locker room give a very different story.

“Up until the transfer deadline on August 31, we will hope for a present from our President,” Gattuso told Sky Italia television.

“We still need a striker and a full-back. This team is not set for the scrapheap, but if someone else arrives then we can do well. We’re still missing something.”

Leonardo also complained that the Rossoneri needed two more signings to be competitive, especially after Kaka was sold to Real Madrid for £60m.

“I was not so surprised at the sale, seeing as the club needed to raise funds and balance the books,” continued Gattuso.

“It’s a shame, as Kaka was one of the greatest ever players to wear the Milan jersey. But we must move forward.”

There were strong reports that Rino would be one of those moving on with links to Bayern Munich, but he laid those fears to rest.

“There is a great team spirit now with Leonardo that we had not seen in a long time. We turned the page after [Carlo] Ancelotti left, although we maintain a wonderful rapport with him.

“I hope to end my career here. If I didn’t leave last year, then I doubt I will in the future.”

Edin Dzeko über Milan:

I've Always Considered AC Milan The Best Club In The World - Wolfsburg Star Dzeko

It seems Edin Dzeko's dream move to AC Milan will not become a reality. The Bosnian striker had asked his club Wolfsburg to release him to the Rossoneri once the Italian outfit showed interest, but the Bundesliga champions did not want to let go of their star at any price.

In an interview with Welt Online, the 23-year-old admitted he was sure his dream of going to Milanello would come true.

"I've always been fascinated by this club," he said. "I don't know why, but I've always considered Milan the best club in the world and receiving an offer like that at 23 years of age made me dream and I wanted to go.

"Since I am an honest person I clearly manifested my desire to leave. On their part the club refused to let me go and that is their right. In life you can't always do what you want."

The player will now probably remain in Germany after holding talks with coach Armin Veh.

"Wolfsburg gave me a great chance two years ago and I have a contract that expires in 2011," Dzeko continued. "I've talked with Armin Veh, I told him of my desire to leave but he told me there are great objectives to play for and that I needed to stay. So in the end I'm happy where I am."

On the player's official website there is also a news story of Dzeko signing a new contract with Wolfsburg, which will see him earning a considerable raise and which involves a buyout clause of €20 million.
