so geile saison

im st james park kann man schon verlieren, aber 10 spiele 7 punkte! aber ich hab noch immer keine abstiegsangst!

Robbie Keane made it seven goals in seven games but it was not enough to prevent us from falling to defeat at St James Park on Monday evening.

For the third season running we were on the wrong end of a 3-1 scoreline and, like on the other occasions, the result does not reflect the fact that the team had a good say in the course of events. It was just goals against coming at crucial moments - none more so that just before half-time and not long after Keane got us back into it goals-wise, but then there was the sucker punch that made the victory look more emphatic than it was.

As was pretty well documented beforehand, Radek Cerny took his place in goal as deputy for the injured Paul Robinson, while there was also a place in attack for Darren Bent. The other change from the team that started at Liverpool last time out was the introduction on the right of Steed Malbranque in place of Teemu Tainio, who began on the bench after recovery from an injury that kept him out of the internationals.

Our first impression on the game was made by the galloping strides of Gareth Bale, who eased himself into space down the left flank before dispatching a measured crossed that Keane attempted to funnel into the path of Bent, but the pair did not quite make it click on this occasion.

There was a high alert at our end in the 13th minute when, from a Charles N'Zogbia corner, Abdoulaye Faye stole a march on his marker and crashed a header against the crossbar under considerable pressure from a punching Cerny. Moments a later a quickly taken free-kick, with Bale grounded, led to forward sortie from Keane, but his chip over Shay Given was cleared away.

There was a big blow when Bale was unfit to continue in the 20th minute. Michael Owen had his first impact on the fixture six minutes later when Emre seized on a bad touch from Michael Dawson and set Owen on the charge. The striker placed with precision to the inside of the left post, but Cerny reacted superbly to fingertip the ball away.

Bent then sent Keane away on a dash into the area, but the skipper delayed his shot taking and Given was eventually able to field with some comfort. Geremi was later given the chance to test the keeper from a free-kick just outside the area, but his low effort thankfully drifted wide.

It was Cerny to the rescue just before the break when Martins shook off the attentions of Younes Kaboul and drilled goalwards with the Czech doing excellently to block at his near post. He probably would have gathered the rebound shot from Owen too had Dawson not got his block in first.

It was only a temporary reprieve, however, as a long ball from Jose Enrique was not dealt with by Dawson and Martins nipped in behind the central defender and when faced by Cerny he dispatched a shot which hit the goalkeeper and flew high into the net. It was a bitter pill so late in a half in which Newcastle had been contained and we were not without an attacking threat of our own.

In front of a crowd of 51,411, things did not get any better early on the second half and, on 51 minutes, an Emre corner was met by an unmarked Claudio Cacapa at the near post and his bullet header gave Cerny no chance.

The deficit was cut five minutes later when a Chimbonda cross was headed onto the inside of the post by Bent, the ball coming out and thankfully landing at the feet of Keane to pop back into the net. Game on. Dimitar Berbatov was also thrown into the mix in place of Malbranque.

Bent drilled high and wide after being played through by Berbatov in the wake of Newcastle being refused a free-kick at the other end. Passions were running high and tempers were getting a little frayed - then Joey Barton came on.

He must be something of a lucky charm for his new team because shortly after his entrance on 72 minutes the Newcastle advantage was extended to 3-1 courtesy of fellow substitute James Milner. A cross from the left was headed clear and, at the second time of asking, Milner slapped the ball home with a low-ish shot that bounced past Cerny and into the bottom left hand corner.

A couple of forrays at either end came to nothing and that's how it ended.

Jol Sacked As Tottenham Manager

During the defeat to Getafe in a Group G game Spurs fans gave vocal support to the Dutchman singing "Stand up for Martin Jol" during the match.

I looove Martin Joooooooooooool, Martin Joool loooves meeeeeeeeeeee!:allaaah:

We can confirm that the Board has this evening asked Martin Jol, Club Manager and Chris Hughton, First Team Coach to stand down from their positions with immediate effect.

We have not taken these decisions lightly or without recognition of the contribution both Martin and Chris have made to the Club.

Chairman Daniel Levy said: “For me, Martin and Chris’ departure is regrettable. Our greatest wish was to see results turn in our favour and for there to be no need for change. We feel honoured that Martin has been manager at our Club, having seen us qualify twice for Europe. Chris has been with us since 1977, bar a three year period, both as player and coach and he has been an excellent ambassador for the Club. They have been professional, popular and respected members of the coaching staff and there will always be a warm welcome for them both at the Lane.”

Martin Jol added: “I can understand the position of the Club in light of the results. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Tottenham Hotspur is a special Club and I want to thank the terrific staff and players. For me the fans were always amazing with their support so I would also like to say thank you – I shall never forget them.”

We shall report in due course on new appointments to the coaching staff. In the interim, the First Team will be coached by our current Development Coach, Clive Allen and Alex Inglethorpe, our Youth Team manager.

Also einstweilen mit Clive Allen und Alex Inglethorpe. :greenoops:

The Club can confirm that it has asked Hans Segers, Goalkeeping Coach, to step down with immediate effect.

Hans joined the coaching staff in 1998, in which he made two First Team appearances, before making the substitutes bench in the 2001/02 season due to squad injuries.

"Hans has been a committed and enthusiastic member of the coaching staff and we should like to thank him for his contribution and hard work," said Sporting Director Damien Comolli.

Perry Suckling our Academy Goalkeeping Coach will take over First Team goalkeeping training and an announcement regarding a new appointment will be made in due course.

Wurde auch Zeit. Robbo spielt seit bald eineinhalb Jahren wie ein Blinder. Obwohl ich glaube, dass es sich hierbei um eine Falschmedlung handelt und das hier das Original ist:

The Club can confirm that it has asked Ethel O'Rouke, Official Club Tea Lady, to step down with immediate effect.

Ethel joined the kitchen staff in 1918, in which time she has made over two million cups of tea. Unfortunately, Ethel sustained a career-threatening hip injury in 2004, and - to be frank - the tea has never been the same since.

"Ethel has been a committed and enthusiastic member of the Kitchen staff and we should like to thank her for her contribution and hard work. We all wish her well in celebrating her 90th birthday next month," said Sporting Director Damien Comolli.

"Ethel has been a loyal servant for this club. But so have many - including me. Tea is fundamental to ensure that the business operates to its maximum potential. Unfortunately, the board felt that Ethel was losing her touch - not to mention her eyesight. We thank Ethel for her work," said Chairman Daniel Levy.

"Fuck off Daniel - fo' shizzle my nizzle," said the departing Ethel.

Betty Dumbleweed, our Academy Tea Lady, will take over the making of the tea in the interim. An announcement regarding a new permanent appointment will be made in due course.

Aus der Sun:

Ramos is Juan hell of a boss

By ANTONY KASTRINAKIS

TOTTENHAM have just found themselves Juan hell of a manager.

For Juande Ramos is the man Spurs have been crying out for years.

Think of Arsene Wenger, throw in a bit of Alex Ferguson and mix it up with Jose Mourinho — and you get Ramos.

For the players he is a mentor, a teacher, a man who loves spectacular, attacking football like Wenger.

Go out of form, take your eye of the ball and you are dropped even if you are Beckham or Van Nistelrooy. Work your socks off and you are in the team for good — just like Sir Alex.

If you need your manager to be a leader, a friend, a confidante — just like Mourinho — then Ramos is your man.

Jermain Defoe, things are looking up for you today. You WILL play because Ramos does not care about names, reputations or transfer fees.

And the fans can rejoice because Ramos WILL deliver.

He has never failed, taking teams from oblivion and putting them on the map — and you would struggle to find a player who has a bad word about him.

Ramos led Seville into the Champions League for the first time and won back-to-back UEFA Cups, a Spanish Cup and the European Super Cup.

He guided lowly Malaga to 10th place — their highest La Liga finish. When he left they got relegated. When he was in charge of Rayo Vallecano he got them to the UEFA Cup. Even though they got a fair-play spot they had still finished ninth.

Next stop was newly-promoted Real Betis and he led them to a UEFA Cup spot in his first season, narrowly missing out on a Champions League place.

His only mishap was at Espanyol when he was sacked eight games into the season after a fall-out with the directors over signings.

A close friend of Ramos said last night: “The word that best defines Juande is justice. He is a just man, a fair man.”

Ramos goes out of his way to be a friend to his players. He wins their trust by being fair.

The new Spurs boss will always play the most in-form players. He will drop Dimitar Berbatov if he has to and will not think twice about it.

Last year, Seville paid £5million for striker Ernesto Chevanton, a massive fee for them. But he hardly got a game.

He did not convince Ramos. Like Andriy Shevchenko failed to convince Mourinho — despite a £30m transfer fee.

By contrast, Fredi Kanoute and Louis Fabiano were irreplaceable.

In fact, even youngster Kepa Blanco — who spent the second half of last season on loan to West Ham — played ahead of Chevanton.

Ramos always prefers a rigid 4-4-2 system with two strikers. He only ever changes it to 4-4-1-1, with a second striker behind the targetman, when Seville play away from home against big clubs like Real Madrid or Barcelona.

He adapts his game to the squad he inherits and, like Wenger, those who have played under his guidance have increased their value.

Players like Joaquin at Betis and Daniel Alves at Seville burst on to the world scene under his guidance. Kanoute left Spurs as a flop and scored 20 Liga goals last season.

Yet Ramos is different to the legendary three Premier League managers in one way — he is always calm, does not remonstrate with referees, does not moan.

He is “serene” as another close pal of his described. Whether that will change in these shores remains to be seen.

Unlike Mourinho, he will never court headlines and although very polite and courteous to the media — he will always give an interview — he does steer clear of controversy.

Barcelona were planning to replace Frank Rijkaard with Ramos if the Dutchman left at the end of the season. Real, too, were always following him closely.

However Ramos has been studying English for some time.

Last year, he won the prestigious “Miguel Munoz” trophy for the best manager in Spain.

In his homeland he is rated among the best two Spanish managers along with Liverpool’s Rafa Benitez.

But unlike the under-fire Liverpool boss Ramos loves to play attacking football.

Antony Kastrinakis = Juande Ramos = Gott?
