En fin de semaine, les dirigeants monégasques étaient entrés en contact avec l'Argentin de Barcelone Janvier Saviola. Son départ ne ferait qu'accentuer la volonté catalane de recruter un n°9... Anelka ?

Laporta hat sich aber heute zu diesem Thema geäußert und zwar demetierte er die Anelka-Gerüchte und meinte, dass Eto'o oberste Priorität habe. O-Ton Laporta: "Wenn Eto'o nicht kommt, dann kommt keiner." Da fehlt ja bekanntlich nur noch eine Einigung mit Real.

In der Zwischenzeit angelt Monaco intensiv nach Saviola. Monaco-Präsident Michel Pastor sagte heute, dass man mit ihm verhandle und er auch gerne nach Monaco kommen wolle. Laut ihm soll es in den nächsten Tagen zu einer Einigung kommen.

Außerdem meldet "AS", dass Real auf Wunsch von Neo-Trainer Camacho unbedingt Puyol will. Sie wollen ihn in den Eto'o-Deal einbinden. Gott, wie ich sie hasse. :aaarrrggghhh:

Monaco ist schon selten blöd, weil er ihnen nach seinem Olympia-Auftritt für die ersten 1-2 Monate genauso wenig bringen würde wie Barca. Bin mal gespannt, wie das ganze endet.

Another great performance

Barca has beaten Jubilo Iwata 0-3, with two goals from Larsson and one from Luis García. New signing Edmílson made his debut.

Following on from the crushing win against Kashima Antlers (0-5), Barca chalked up yet another convincing win in the second and last game of the Japanese part of the tour. The exhibition of attacking football, especially in the first half, delighted the fans that packed the Ecopa stadium.

Barca started well, with plenty of movement on and off the ball. The attack, led once again by Ronaldinho, opened up acres of space in the Jubilo Iwata defence. Sylvinho made his presence felt with a number of deep thrusts down the wing while Gabri was also very active and demonstrated his versatility in both his defensive and attacking duties.

Total control

FC Barcelona dominated the game from beginning to end and Jubilo Iwata could do nothing to counteract the superiority of Frank Rijkaard's team. Barca controlled the tempo of the game and generated numerous chances in the first half. The players were fully focussed on the job in hand and produced fluid and attractive football. Throughout the first half, Valdés was a mere spectator in the Barca goal as his teammates threw themselves once and again at the Japanese defence.

Larsson does the job

He was signed to score goals and the fact is he's coming up with the goods. Henrik Larsson is a natural goal poacher who rarely lets a chance get away. In addition, his constant movements open up spaces for teammates such as Giuly and Ronaldinho.

The first goal came in the 29th minute. Ronaldinho went past a number of opponents and centred for Larsson to score from the penalty spot. The second came six minutes later. Van Bronckhorst took a corner kick and Larsson out jumped his marker to head past Sato in the Japanese goal.

Edmílson makes his debut

In the second half, Frank Rijkaard made a series of changes. Luis García and Xavi replaced Gabri and Larsson followed by Iniesta (for Belletti) and Gerard (for Van Bronckhorst). Barca's latest signing, Edmílson made his debut replacing Giuly.

Edmílson played in the midfield holding position he usually occupies in the Brazilian national side, while Márquez and Puyol took care of the centre of defence. Another player who made his debut towards the end of the match was young central defender Mora who signed earlier this year from Spanish club Castellón and is destined to learn his trade in the reserve squad.

Rhythm drops in second half

The game faltered in the second half as the many changes made by Frank Rijkaard took their logical toll. The absence of the attacking potential of Henrik Larsson was particularly noticeable. However, FC Barcelona continued to create chances, with Ronaldinho usually heavily involved. The third goal came in the 62nd minute. Ronaldinho made a superb pass to Luis García without even looking at him and Luis García beat the advancing Sato. Ronaldinho almost got a fourth with a brilliantly taken free kick which went just wide while Luis García had a goal disallowed.

Reds eye Spanish star

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez could be ready to return to Spain to make his second signing of the summer with Barcelona winger Luis Garcia reported to be on his wanted list.

Benitez is keen to bolster his midfield options having lost Vladimir Smicer to long-term injury and is exploring transfer targets.

Liverpool are reported to have made enquiries for Garcia about a possible loan signing for the season.

Garcia's first team chances seem limited following the arrival of Deco and Ludovic Giuly at Camp Nou.

Benitez is a big fan of the 26-year-old and tried to sign him when he was in charge of Valencia.

Garcia, who is predominantly a left-sided midfielder, can play in a variety of positions and would add options to Benitez's team.

Frank Rijkaard war mit der Leistung beim ersten Testpsiel in Asien nicht zufrieden. Er meinte, dass man sich im Klaren sein muss das die Ferien beendet sind und die Konkurrenz auch hart arbeitet. Heute wird Barcelona in Japan ankommen.

Sergio Santamaria wird für eine Saison an Deportivo Alaves ausgeliehen. Er sagte das es schwierig sei bei Barca zu spielen und er Einsätze bräuche. Bei Barca steht der 24-Jährige noch bis 2006 unter Vertrag.

Edmilson sagte gestern dass er auch ein Angebot von Real Madrid hatte und er dieses aber abgelehnt hätte. Sandro Rosell zeigte sich sehr erfeut darüber. In Sachen Eto`o heilt sich Rosell bedeckt und sagte das die Planungen eigentlich abgeschlossen sind.

Neuzugang Edmilson hat die Rückennumer 15 erhalten. Und er sagte bei seiner Präsemtation: " Von klein an hab ich schon davon geträumt bei einem grossen Klub wie diesem hier zu spielen. Die Ankunft hier lässt meinen Traum in Erfüllung gehen. " Edmilson meinte auch das er mit Lyon schon Titel geholt hat und er das hier in Barcelona fortsetzen will. Edmilson ist als IV vorgseehn kann jedoch auch im defensiven Mittelfeld spielen. Edmilson meinte auch das er dort spielen werde wo ihn der Trainer aufstellen wird.

Edmilson sagte das er auch anderen Angebote hatte. Zum Beispiel eines von Real Madrid. Aber er habe da Sandro Rosell sein Wort schon gegeben. Nachdem Carvalho zu Chelsea gwechselt sei, sei er von Real Madrid kontaktiert worden. Mein Wunsch war es hier in Barcelona zu spielen und ich bin sehr zufrieden den es ist eingetroffen.

Real Mallorca hat nun genug von den Spielchen und will Eto`o verkaufen. Barcelona hat 20 Mio Euro geboten. Und evtl. eine Ausliehe von 2 Spielern dazu. Allerdings will Real Madrid 25 Mio Euro haben. Falls der Transfer nicht klappt wird keine andere Nr. 9 kommen. Entweder Eto`o oder keiner.

Javier Saviola`s Priorität ist nach wie vor ein Bleiben beim FC Barcelona. Joan Laporta hat gestern folgendes gesagt: "Er ist Spieler von Barcelona und wir planen nichts anderes. Wir wollen dass er bleibt. Der Trainerstab findet das mit der Verpflichtung von Edmilson der Kader steht. Wir werden nur nochmals aktiv wenn jemand zu haben ist der uns wirklich verstärkt." Mallorcas Präsident hat das Angebot von Barca akzeptiert. Eto'os Berater verhandelt zur Stunde auf dem Barca-Gelände mit Joan Laporta.

Es sieht alles sehr gut aus. Nur Madrid kann den Wechsel jetzt noch verhindern.

Vor dem Transfer zu Barcelona hat sich Edmilson bei Ronaldinho erkundigt. Dieser hat ihm dann gesagt das du zum besten Klub der Welt kommst. Ronaldinho sieht auch kein Problem, dass es zuviele Brasilianer werden können. Er sagt: " Es ist richtig, dass wir nun 6 Brasilianer hier sind, aber das macht keinen Unterschied. Carles Puyol dementiert jegliche Gerüchte um einen Tranfer zu Real Madrid. Puyol: "Ich bin stolz hier Capitän zu sein und das will ich auch nicht ändern. Ich habe noch kein Titel hier geholt und das will ich dieses Jahr ändern." Weiter sagte er: " Ich bin hier im besten Klub der Welt und möchte noch sehr lange hier bleiben. Barcelona Ersatztorhüter Albert Jorquera hat sich verletzt und ist nach Barcelona zurückgereist. Er hat sich das rechte Handgelenk verletzt. Sollte es nicht gebrochen sein wird er nur etwa 2 Wochen ausfallen. Ist das Handgelenk gebrochen wird er 3 Monate ausfallen. In Barcelona wird sein Handgelenk geröntgt.

Laporta hat auch nocheinmal klar gesagt wie die Zukunft von Saviola aussieht: " Saviola ist Spieler des FC Barcelona. Wir planen immoment kein Wechsel mit ihm. Sollte Eto`o kommen, werden wir uns mit ihm und seinem Berater zusammensetzen müssen. Wir verstehen uns sehr gut. Eines ist klar, falls Saviola ausgeliehen werden möchte dann besteht eine Möglichkeit. Aber wir werden Saviola keinesfalls verkaufen. Saviola hat eine grosse Zukunft beim FC Barcelona."

Laporta sagt das die Mitteliung von Sport nicht stimmt. Man plane immoment nichts mit Saviola und mna habe ihm auch nichts mitgeteilt. Er sagt man muss abwarten, eines ist klar man wolle ihn nur ausleihen da man davon überzeugt sei das er noch eine grosse Zukunft bei Barca haben wird.

Glück im Unglück für Albert Jorquera. Der Ersatztorhüter hat sich nicht wie befürchtet das Handgelenk gebrochen und wird nur 3 Wochen ausfallen.

Barca tempt Baros to seek Anfield exit

Rafael Benítez's reign as Liverpool manager suffered its first potential setback last night after Milan Baros admitted he had set his heart on playing for Barcelona.

The Czech international, who was the leading scorer at Euro 2004, met with his new manager during the club's pre-season tour of the United States last week to discuss his immediate future.

While he remains committed to the Merseysiders for the moment, he stressed to Benitez during those talks that he would be keen to move to Camp Nou should the tentative interest shown by Barcelona in him last month be followed by a firm bid.

"The manager simply asked me about my future and what would happen if Barcelona came in for me," said Baros. "I said I would stay at this club if anyone else came in for me but, if it was Barcelona, it would be nice to move there. When I was a kid it was always my dream to play for them. I wanted to play in England and for Barcelona - now my first dream has been achieved."

Barcelona made a bid for the Cameroon international striker Samuel Eto'o at the weekend, though that transfer could yet be complicated by the fact that he is owned jointly by Real Mallorca and Real Madrid. That may prompt the Barça president Joan Laporta to return to Baros as an alternative target having been impressed by the forward's performances in Portugal.

The 22-year-old scored five times to propel his country to the semi-final stage at Euro 2004, though that record contrasts starkly with a tally of 14 goals in 61 appearances since he moved to Anfield from Banik Ostrava in December 2001.

Much of his time at the club has been spent as a substitute and he would have handed in a transfer request this summer had Gérard Houllier not been removed as manager.

"I wanted to leave and would have done had the manager not changed," he admitted. "But after Euro 2004 I came back here to find a new situation at the club. I've spoken to Rafael Benítez and I like life at Liverpool - I've learned the language, I get on well with the fans, and it's a big club - but you can't be at Liverpool for 10 or 12 years. That doesn't happen in football these days.

"You move clubs. Everyone does during their career. I'm still here and ready to play for Liverpool, but there is a month before the transfer window closes and we'll see what happens.

"To move to Barcelona would be nice but, if it doesn't happen, I will stay here and will fight for my place. Liverpool need more than two strikers because we are going to play so many games, and we'll see who is going to play as first-choice."

Michael Owen expects to agree a contract extension with Liverpool before the start of the Premiership season next week. "The reality is we have only had four or five meetings and that is normal during contract negotiations," said Owen.

"Another [meeting] is planned for next week. We are in no rush. We are closer than we were, but we are not there yet because the contract has not been signed."

Neues aus Liverpool. Milan Baros hat kaut eigenen Angaben Trainer Benitez mitegteilt das es sein Wunsch sei einmal bei Barcelona zu spielen. Baros meinte in einem Interview: "Benitez hat mich über meine Zukunft gefragt und was passieren würde wenn Barcelona anklopfen würde. Ich habe ihm gesagt das ich 2 Träume habe. Erstens in England zu spielen und zweitens bei Barcelona zu spielen. Den ersten Traum habe ich realissiert."

Tour ends with a win (3-0)

The Asia Tour has reached its end with another victory for Frank Rijkaard's team. Two goals from Luis García and another for Henrik Larsson sealed the win in a match marred by over-physical play.

International Shanghai were no match for a Barça side that are now ready to come home. The highlights of the game were Edmilson's full debut, the return of Thiago Motta, injured from earlier in pre-season, and the unfair expulsion of Oleguer Presas, who reacted badly to Li Yan's aggression.

Comfortable start

The match was surprisingly physical, above all in the second half, but victory for Rijkaard's men was never seriously in doubt as Barca dominated despite playing without Deco, who is still struggling with an injury.

With just three minutes gone, Luis García, who came in for Guily, put Barça ahead with a header from Sylvinho's free kick on the right-wing. The scorer then had a fantastic chance to extend the scoreline ten minutes later but somehow failed to score having beaten the keeper.

Injuries

With less than a quarter of the game gone, Sylvinho was forced to leave the field after twisting his ankle and Fernando Navarro came on his place. This was not to be the only injury, however, both Gabri and Larsson also picked up knocks, although they were able to continue. Gabri suffered a blow to the shin whilst Larsson damaged his left wrist.

Larsson goal

In the 31st minute, the Swedish centre-forward slotted home Barça's second following typical predatory play in the area. Belletti crossed with his left foot from the right-wing and Larsson was on hand to coolly finish.

Second half battle

After the break, the Chinese side did manage to create some opportunities, making the most of the readjustment in the FC Barcelona side after Frank Rijkaard had made four changes. Luis García quickly killed the game off, though, with a shot from the edge of the area for the third goal.

With Barça stepping off the gas, International Shanghai were able to create some chances. With rash tackles flying in from the Chinese side, Oleguer, who had only come on in the 65th minute, was sent off along with striker Li Yan. In all seven yellow cards were shown in a game that was played, at times, with excessive aggression for a pre-season friendly.

Sina.com held the session with the Brazilian ace and organisers were delighted with the response. Only a chat session held for basketball great Michael Jordan has attracted more internet users for the Sina Corporation.

"I believe that this year he will be more important for us than the last," said Barca coach rank Rijkaard yesterday. "Now he has more experience and after a hard first season for him, I believe that this must be an additional motivation.

"Ronaldinho is intelligent and knows the situation, which is why he assumes this responsibility. Everybody hopes that he produces things. It is important to take care of him well."

Laporta: Eto'o Belongs To Barca

If you believe the words of Barcelona president Joan Laporta, then Samuel Eto'o will be playing at the Nou Camp this season.

The Samuel Eto'o transfer saga, which seems to get stranger by the day, appears to have finally ended.

The Cameroon international forward has already stated his desire to leave his current club Malorcca and it appears that he will get his wish.

"Eto'o will be a Barcelona player in 12 hours," said Laporta.

Well, the clock is ticking and that means Barcelona should offcially announce the signing by Tuesday evening at the very latest. Stay tuned...

Puyol agrees to pay cut

Barcelona captain Carles Puyol has agreed to restructure his contract and accept a reduction in his basic salary.

Barca president Joan Laporta has been attempting to reduce the club's debts since assuming control last summer.

Renegotiating players' contracts has been one of his priorities although inevitably it has caused some disquiet.

Puyol, along with others like Javier Saviola and Gerard, signed a lucrative deal under the former regime - sanctioned by previous president Joan Gaspart - and Laporta insists the contracts were unsustainable.

However, attempts to try and reduce those salaries have caused friction, and in the case of Saviola it has even led to rumours the club would be willing to offload him if he does not agree to renegotiate.

However, after Puyol's example, Laporta will be hoping other squad members will now follow suit.
