A group of United fans have raised £840 in a day to fund a plane to fly over Old Trafford with a message reading Wrong One Moyes Out.

The message is a response to the Stretford End Flags banner which reads The Chosen One. Following Uniteds 3-0 defeat against City yesterday, stewards were sent to protect the banner at full time, after there were concerns that fans would want to remove it.

As yet, there have been no public protests within the ground, home or away, but it is expected that will change at the weekend when United face Villa.

Manchester United's Class of 92 'in talks over Old Trafford takeover bid'

David Beckham and his former Manchester United teammates are exploring the possibility of buying out the club, according to reports

David Beckham and fellow members of Manchester United's 'Class of 92' are exploring the possibility of being part of a consortium which is bidding to buy the club, according to a report last night.

The Sun claimed that Beckham, Paul Scholes, Phil and Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs and Nicky Butt have held talks about fronting a takeover which would be backed by money from the Middle East.

The club is currently owned by the Glazers, an American family who have always insisted they intend to retain United in the long term but who have faced criticism over the level of debt run up under their stewardship.

Speaking as TV pundits after United's dismal 3-0 defeat to Manchester City at Old Trafford on Tuesday, Scholes and Gary Neville delivered a scathing assessment of the their former club.

Scholes said United need to sign a host of new players in the summer, while Gary Neville claimed his former club were suffering an identity crisis despite spending £80 million since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.

Giggs is the only member of the 'Class of 92' still plying his trade as a player at Old Trafford where he also serves as a coach alongside Phill Neville and Butt, while Beckham retired last year after a six-month spell at Paris Saint-Germain.

Gary Neville has worked as an analyst and pundit since his retirement in 2011 and Scholes has also worked for Sky Sports.

Marouane Fellaini has insisted he was not fortunate to escape a red card in the Manchester derby and claimed that, rather than elbowing Pablo Zabaleta, the Argentinian "bounced" his jaw against him: "I put my arm up to try and protect possession of the ball, and Zabaleta bounced [his jaw] against it. He was unlucky to make contact. The movement by me was not in an aggressive manner. It was a defensive move to protect the ball. My first feeling is I'm surprised it is a free kick, but by what I am hearing people are saying it could have been worse". United manager David Moyes said he did not even think Fellaini had committed a foul at the time but that he had been informed it was more serious than he had realised.

Ned unbedingt sehr hell von Fellaini, aber gut, früher oder später wird er dafür eh rot sehen, wird wohl (zu Recht) am Radar der Schiris sein.

Bei dem Körper was er hat, braucht er zum Ballabdecken nicht mehr mit der Hand abschirmen. Völlig unnötigt die Aktion. Er hat noch Glück, dass der Schiri das Foul geahndet hat, sonst hätte er nachträglich eine Sperre bekommen.

Abgesehen davon war er an diesem Tag sowieso wieder völlig neben der Spur.
