Naja, das ist eh klar. Wenn er immer Tore als Einwechselspieler schießt. Robbie ist an der White Hart Lane unglaublich beliebt. Jeder Ballkontakt wird gefeiert , hab das in London gegen Fulham erlebt. Nur Defoe ist unglaublich stark und Mido, den ich ziemlich negativ beurteilt habe, ist auch ein Klassemann. Ein bulliger, großer Stürmer und entweder Defoe oder Keane oder alle 3. Nur Jol ist eher ein defensiv ausgerichteter Mann. (Interview im Spurs-Magazin)

Lennon gets U21 call

Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon and Cardiff City striker Cameron Jerome have been called into the England Under-21 squad.

Lennon has won 24 caps for England across the Under-16, Under-17 and Under-19 levels with two goals to his name.

It is Cameron Jerome's first international call-up and comes on the back of a rich vein of form which has seen him notch seven goals in 11 games this season.

England currently sit joint top of Group 6 with Germany after claiming 18 points from eight games.

Peter Taylor's team face Austria at Elland Road on Friday before taking on Poland at Hillsborough on Tuesday 11 October.

England have already qualified for November's two-leg play-offs which will identify the eight finalist teams.

World Cup 2006 will go ahead without Robbie and his Republic of Ireland teammates after the Republic failed to register a win against Switzerland in midweek. It was a crushing blow for the striker, Andy Reid and Chris Hughton, but Robbie did his best to put on a brave face on his return to Spurs Lodge and looked ahead to the forthcoming challenges at club level.

"Of course we are very disappointed, but it wasn't the Switzerland game, we lost it a few months ago against Israel when we lost a 2-0 lead," reflected our match winner last time out against Charlton. "We have to keep our heads up and get on with it as there is no point in keep feeling sorry for ourselves."

"It will be in the back of my mind for a while, but I have got a job to do now for Spurs. I have to come in and train with a smile on my face and can't be moping around. It is another important game on Saturday and you have to pick yourself up. If you let things affect you it can affect you on the pitch."

The 25-year-old is now hoping the boys can stick around in the top quarter of the table once the Premiership resumes, but suspects Everton - who are likely to feature Simon Davies - are in something of a false position in the table at the moment.

"It looks nice seeing ourselves in third, we've made a good start and it is important for us to maintain that - I'm sure we will."

"I don't see Everton staying bottom, they've got a good squad which obviously now includes our mate Digger, who will be coming back on Saturday. People thought they were in a false position last year too! Of course they shouldn't be where they are but the Premiership is a tough league and, if you don't get off to a good start and win games, it can be hard to push up the table.

"I usually do quite well against them and, if selected on Saturday, I will be looking to do the same thing."

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy says Spurs could be tempted to move into the Olympic Stadium after it has been used for the 2012 London Games.

The 70,000-plus stadium to be built in Stratford, east London, would provide Spurs with an extra 34,000 seats.

"That is a possibility," Levy told The Times newspaper. "At the moment it is going to be used for athletics.

"If that changes, then I'm sure they'll come and talk to us. There are only one or two clubs who could occupy it."

Levy added: "We have the fourth largest supporter base of any English club and that is an independent assessment.

"And we are one of the few clubs that have sold every single seat this season.

"Chelsea had empty seats in the Champions League. I can tell you now that, if we were playing in Europe, I don't care who it would be against, this stadium would be full. The supporter base is not just large, it is very loyal."

Versteh ich ehrlich gesagt nicht ganz. Das Stadion ist ja in einem Hammersbezirk. Andererseits ist man mit der Tube schnell da und hat wenigstens keine Probleme eine Karte zu bekommen.

Wenn ich mir die aktuelle Seite der Spurs anschau, bei der ich nichts beanstanden kann, und dann höre, dass sie trotzdem eine neue, verbesserte online stellen wollen und wenn ich dann einen Blick auf z.B. die FAK-HP werf, könnt ich .

Kundenservice, behutsamer Image-Aufbau und Marketing sind scheinbar nicht die Sache der österreichischen Vereine.

Najo, so kanns ruhig weiter gehen; wenn wir in der Endtabelle genauso dastehen, wär ich mehr als nur zufrieden.

Gut, das wirds sicher nicht spielen, aber es scheint trotzdem ein gutes Jahr zu werden.

Bemerkenswert finde ich, dass sich Wigan so gut hält.

Ebenfalls 19 Punkte, aber ein Spiel weniger.

Aber wurscht, die Saison ist noch lang, genauso wie wir uns wohl nicht auf den Championsleague-Plätzen halten können, wird Wigan auch noch wegbrechen.

Ich hab das Spiel gegen ManU nicht gesehen, aber laut skysports.com ist der Punkt allemal verdient.

Übrigens, am Sonntag jährte sich der Todestag von Bill Nicholson zum 1. Mal:
