Mass Effect Accidentally Included with Black Ops 2

Update: While Activision has yet to provide an official statement regarding Mass Effect 2 replacing Black Ops II for some players, Mass Effect developer BioWare has commented on the matter, offering free copies of the Mass Effect trilogy to affected players. In a statement on its official site, BioWare posted the following:

"Rumor has it that about a thousand customers who purchased Call of Duty: Black Ops II for PC today were also treated to a surprise copy of Mass Effect 2. If you were one of the affected, chances are you thought it was a mistake, but we prefer to think that it was an omen, and when the universe talks, you should listen.

If the universe thinks that you should be playing Mass Effect right now, who are we to argue? In fact, we want to help! The first fifty fans affected by this phenomenon to send us a picture holding their special disc 2 will receive a code for a FREE PC copy of Mass Effect Trilogy.

Remember, in order to qualify, YOU must be in the picture, and disc 2 of your Call of Duty: Black Ops II must be visible. Got it? Then send your photo to [email protected] and you could be playing your very own Mass Effect Trilogy in time for the weekend!"

We'll update this article once Activision provides an official comment.

Some players are opening boxed copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops II on PC and finding the second installation disc replaced by a copy of Mass Effect 2. According to the Steam forums, BioWare forums and Reddit, users report that while the disc art shows the Black Ops II logo, it boots up as Mass Effect 2 when inserted into a PC.

An example of one user encountering the problem is embedded below (warning: NSFW language).

It’s worth noting that players can simply use the serial number included in the packaging to download a full copy of the game, so customers will only be prevented from playing if they're unable to download the files. For now it’s unclear how widespread the problem is, but we’ve reached out to Activision for a comment and will update with any additional info we receive. IGN will also attempt to replicate the problem with PC copies of Black Ops II and will report back with any findings.

war früher ein MW3-Clan aber jetzt spielen fast alle nur noch BF3, CoD 4 oder Diablo

wenn überhaupt werd ich mir das Teil frühestens im Dezember holen

Mir gefällt das neue Klassensystem eigentlich sehr gut.

Mörderklassen kann man sich da zusammenstellen

Ich weiss ja nicht wie oft du waffen wechselst, aber ich hab 3 klassen eingestellt und die reichen mir vollkommen aus.

Token hab ich auch einige auf der Seite falls Ich was neues brauche...bin jetzt level 30 in 5,5h spielzeit, geht ja eh so schnell und du kannst dir freischalten was du willst....

Ja eh Ich auch! Beim MW3 alle SMGs und MPs mit 2500 kills voll gehabt, aber halt eine nach dem anderen fertig gespielt!

Darum wirds mir auch mehr wurscht sein, jetzt mach ich mal die MP7 und die 2te Sniper und dann kommen die nächsten dran
