Exactly. There isnt even anything in the above which you posted mentioning the play off round. These rules are old and have not been updated since the new qualifying procedure.

Point it out to me, where it mentions rules regarding a player in the playoff round. AKA 4th round, not once does it mention anything about a playoff round at all

UEFA has relaxed its rules on players appearing for two teams in one season in the Champions and Europa Leagues.

The executive committee has agreed that a player who appears for a club in any of the preliminary rounds of the Champions League or Europa League can play for another team in the competition proper, so long as his original team is eliminated in the preliminary competition.

"The rules have been relaxed regarding what the English call 'cup-tied' players, that is players who have already played for one team in a competition in a season," said UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino.

it doesn´t need to say anyhting about playoff, because what i highlighted was the exception of the rule about players not being able to play for two club in european contest. and it just states clearly for which stages of european competition this exception is valid.

you have to be careful with UEFA terminology. of course the play-off is in fact nothing more than a "fourth qualifying round", UEFA just doesn´t treat it as such in their regulations.

Rule 18.07

18.07 As a rule, a player may not play in a UEFA club competition (i.e. UEFA

Champions League and UEFA Europa League, but not UEFA Super Cup) for

more than one club in the course of the same season. Exceptionally,

however, a player who has been fielded in the first, second or third qualifying

round of the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League is entitled to

play in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League for another

club as from the group stage, provided that his former club did not qualify for

the group phase of either the UEFA Champions League or the UEFA Europa

League; moreover, as from the start of the round of 32 (round of 16 for UEFA

Champions League), a player can be registered in accordance with

player who has not been fielded is entitled to play for another club competing

Jelavic played for Rapid in Round 2 & 3 Therefor it is absolutely unimportant if he plays the playoff round for rapid or not! if rapid (and we fucking will!) qualifies for the groupstage of the el, jela will not be allowed to play for rangers in cl/el.

the only way would be, if jelavic was just a substitute and didn't play round 2 and 3!
