Bahnt sich da in den nächsten Tagen doch noch ein interessanter Deal zwischen Liverpool und Sunderland an ?

Liverpool‘s move for Kenwyne Jones is set to include a clever tax break.

Sunderland are in negotiations to sell their Trinidad & Tobago striker to the Anfield club in a £12million transfer.

But Jones, 25, is likely to move on loan initially, ahead of a guaranteed permanent transfer in the summer.

This enables both clubs to carry the impact of the transfer on their balance sheets into the next tax year which begins in April.

West Brom have pioneered this type of transfer with the sales of Tomasz Kuszczak, Curtis Davies and Jonathan Greening to Manchester United, Aston Villa and Fulham respectively.

All three went on initial loan deals ahead of permanent transfers in the next tax year

The People have sensationally claimed this morning that Manchester City are preparing a sensational summer move for Liverpool striker Fernando Torres .

Reports of Torres’ departure from Liverpool are seemingly reported every Sunday in the tabloids, and today is no different.

Manchester City have reportedly prepared a bid that will smash the world transfer record to sign Torres, and add that if the Liverpool hitman moves to Eastlands he will earn a £200,000-a-week salary.

New Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has impressed the club’s hierarchy and if he guides them into the Champions League will be rewarded with a “blockbuster signing.”

Earlier this season Rafa Benitez publicly proclaimed he would leave Liverpool if Torres was sold from under him.

El Nino is currently recovering from a knee operation that will likely keep him out for another month at least.

This season Torres has scored has scored 12 goals for Liverpool in 19 appearances in the Premier League and Champions League.

Bei Pools Geldproblemen würde mich das aber nicht wundern.

Für 110 MIo.€ könnte man zwar keinen Ersatz für Villa finden, dafür aber so ziemlich alle anderen Baustellen beheben.

Wundern würde mich der Deal jedenfalls nicht!...

Aso na klar. Liverpool braucht Geld und das könnte man durch einen Torres-Verkauf bekommen -> klare Sache.

Nur weil 'The People' (unglaublich seriöse Quelle btw.) darüber berichtet, muss es nicht unbedingt der Wahrheit entsprechen, vor allem wenn man bedenkt, wie oft Torres (und auch Gerrard) schon mit City in Verbindung gebracht wurden.

Aja, Rooney hat angeblich einen Vertrag bei City unterschrieben. Haben ja noch größere Geldprobleme, Ablösesumme wird so um die 245m € geschätzt.

Der Captain ist wieder an Bord. Stevie Gerrard hat am Samstag, gestern und heute voll mit der Mannschaft trainiert und steht im Kader für die morgige Partie gegen Wolverhampton.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is in contention for Tuesday‘s Premier League trip to Wolves after returning ahead of schedule from injury.

The England international was expected to be sidelined for at least a fortnight after sustaining a hamstring problem in the FA Cup exit to Reading on January 13.

However, he returned to action at the club‘s Melwood training ground over the weekend and could play at Molineux.

"He was training on Saturday and then a full training session on Sunday, and today was the same," said manager Rafael Benitez.

"Normally he‘s someone who, if available, can play.

"We‘ll decide tomorrow but I think he can be available."

Defenders Fabio Aurelio and Daniel Agger missed Wednesday‘s win over Tottenham with knocks which may keep them out again but striker Fernando Torres (knee) and midfielder Yossi Benayoun (rib) are still weeks away from fitness.

Maxi Rodriguez makes his first start and Steven Gerrard returns to the starting XI for tonight's Barclays Premier League encounter at Wolves - listen live from 7.15pm GMT.

The Reds skipper has recovered from the hamstring injury that he sustained in the FA Cup defeat at home to Reading, and is one of two changes to the line-up that saw off Spurs last time out.

Our number eight replaces Alberto Aquilani while Maxi comes in for Philipp Degen.
