Wo genau hab ich vom Geld ausgeben gesprochen? Mir gehts um die Aussagen von Pardeza, die an Arroganz nicht zu überbieten sind. Wie können wir es auch wagen, Alonso nicht zu dem Preis herzugeben, den Real bezahlen will?

Ich würde es sehr begrüssen, wenn ein Sympathieträger wie Crouchie wieder zu den Reds zurückkehren würde und man dafür Voronin abgibt, glaube aber, daß er sich - aufgrund der besseren Chance auf einen Stammplatz - für die Spurs entscheiden würde. Mit Redknapp ist dort eine Manger an Bord der Crouch schon immer geschätzt hat und mit Defoe hätte er den Sturmpartner, mit dem er schon bei Pompey grossartig harmoniert hat.

Ich lasse mich positiv überraschen.

GERRARD CLEARED OF AFFRAY

Liverpool and England midfielder Steven Gerrard has been found not guilty of affray at Liverpool Crown Court.

Gerrard admitted hitting Marcus McGee, 34, in a Southport bar last December and a jury at the city's Crown Court accepted his explanation that it was in self-defence.

The 29-year-old was the only one of seven defendants to be cleared over what the judge described as an "explosion of violence" at the Lounge Inn during which McGee lost a tooth and suffered facial cuts.

The trial heard that Gerrard was at the Lounge Inn in Southport, Merseyside, on 29th December to celebrate Liverpool's 5-1 demolition of Newcastle United hours earlier.

The Reds' captain, who scored twice in the game, was enjoying a night out with a party of friends including Anfield legend Kenny Dalglish, 58.

CCTV footage from the bar showed Gerrard and his friends drinking beer, downing shots and dancing round while chanting football songs.

Apology

But trouble flared at around 2am when the father-of-two wanted to change the music on the CD player.

Gerrard apologised for what happened, telling the jury: "I am sorry about the whole incident."

CCTV footage showed that Gerrard's friend, John Doran, actually struck the first blow.

Five of Gerrard's friends who accompanied him that night admitted affray.

They are Ian Smith, 19, of Hilary Avenue, Doran, 29, of Woodlands Road, and Paul McGrattan, 31, of Linden Drive, all Huyton, and Accrington Stanley footballers Robert Grant, 19, of Enstone Avenue, Litherland, and Ian Dunbavin, 28, of Guildford Road, Southport.

Another friend, John McGrattan, 34, of Rimmer Avenue, Huyton, admitted threatening behaviour.

Reputation intact

Gerrard showed no emotion when the jury foreman delivered the not guilty verdict after 70 minutes of deliberation.

Judge Henry Globe told Gerrard: "The verdict is a credible verdict on the full facts of this case, and you walk away from this court with your reputation intact."

Speaking to reporters outside the court, Gerrard said: "Can I just say how pleased I am with today's verdict.

"I'd like to put this case behind me. I'm really looking forward to the season ahead and concentrating on football.

"I'd like to say a big thank you to my legal team, my friends and family and to everyone at Liverpool Football Club for supporting me."

Fans planen Übernahme des FC Liverpool

Revolution beim englischen Fußball-Rekordmeister FC Liverpool: Nach dem Motto "Alle Macht den Fans" planen die Anhänger der Reds die Übernahme ihres Klubs. Zu diesem Zweck sollen weltweit rund 100.000 solvente Liverpool-Fans und ein kommerzieller Partner gefunden werden, die gemeinsam den derzeitigen Klubbesitzern den Verein für bis zu 500 Millionen Pfund (675 Millionen Euro) abkaufen.

Den Anstoß zu der ungewöhnlichen Aktion gab offenbar die wachsende Unzufriedenheit der Liverpooler mit den derzeitigen Klubeigentürmern George Gillett und Tom Hicks. Die beiden Amerikaner hatten den fünfmaligen Landesmeister-Cupgewinner Anfang 2007 für 220 Millionen Pfund (300 Millionen Euro) erworben. Die Fans sehen ihre Reds zunehmend nur noch als Spielball profitorientierter Investoren. Proteste hatte es in den vergangenen Jahren immer wieder im Zusammenhang mit Übernahme-Verhandlungen zwischen Gillett/Hicks und einem Finanzkonsortium aus den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten gegeben.

Aktuell bin ich wieder in der Kategorie 1000-5000 Pfund dabei, nur leider fehlt mir schon seit Beginn der Glauben an die Durchführbarkeit. Bereitschaft sogar etwas mehr zu investieren wäre aber durchaus vorhanden, wenns halt was nützt.

Liverpool-Kapitän Steven Gerrard wurde nach einer Bar-Schlägerei vor Gericht freigesprochen. Der 29-Jährige habe aus Notwehr gehandelt.

Dem englischen Nationalspieler war vorgeworfen worden im Dezember aktiv an einer Schlägerei teilgenommen zu haben. Die Jury schenkte der Darstellung des Fußball-Profis jedoch Glauben und ließ ihn mit einem blauen Auge davon kommen.

"Der ganze Vorfall tut mir leid", gab Gerrard bereits im Vorfeld der Verhandlungen im "Guardian" zu Protokoll.

FIVE STAR REDS BEAT SINGAPORE

Liverpool recorded their first victory of the pre-season campaign with an emphatic 5-0 win over Singapore on Sunday afternoon.

Andriy Voronin put the Reds into the lead on the stroke of half-time with a deflected shot from distance before Albert Riera increased the visitor‘s advantage courtesy of a close-range volley shortly after the restart.

Krisztian Nemeth helped himself to a late brace, with a Fernando Torres goal sandwiched in between as Liverpool went goal crazy in the Far East to claim the Lion Cup in Singapore.

A pre-match rendition of You‘ll Never Walk Alone rang out inside the Singapore National Stadium before the game got underway, with the visitors sporting their stylish new black away strip.

Rafa Benitez took the chance to partner young centre-back Mikel San Jose with Jamie Carragher and handed Daniel Agger a role at left-back.

After a tentative opening, Ryan Babel had the first opportunity of the game when he nodded David Ngog‘s cross goalwards, but Singapore goalkeeper Hassan Sunny was able to make a comfortable save.

Noh Alam Shah saw a low strike blocked by Diego Cavalieri on a rare sortie forward from the home side, though Ngog was inches away from breaking the deadlock at the other end when he sent a looping header narrowly wide of the far post from Andriy Voronin‘s centre.

The young French striker was looking lively and he was unfortunate to see a shot on the turn deflected over the bar by Baihakki Khaizan on the half hour mark, after some excellent link-up play involving Yossi Benayoun.

For all their possession, the Reds were struggling to break down a stubborn Lions rearguard.

However, the visitors finally opened the scoring in the first-half stoppage time when Voronin‘s low drive from 25 yards took a deflection off Daniel Bennett to beat Sunny and put Liverpool into a well deserved lead heading into the break.

Benitez made three changes during the interval, with Peter Gulacsi, Emiliano Insua and Riera replacing Cavalieri, Mikel San Jose and Babel.

The Reds started the second period quickly and Benayoun clipped an attempt just over the bar from inside the bar prior to Riera doubling Liverpool‘s advantage.

Mascherano‘s deep cross from the right picked out the Spain winger, who chested the ball down and drilled an unstoppable volley beneath Sunny on 54 minutes.

The Reds opted to make wholesale changes on the hour mark, with Torres taking to the field, much to the delight of the local fans who cheered his every touch.

It wasn‘t long before Liverpool furthered their lead. Substitute Dirk Kuyt pounced on a wayward header before crossing for Nemeth, who dispatched a clinical shot into the bottom corner from 12 yards.

With just under 15 minutes remaining, Xabi Alonso was handed his first-run out of pre-season after recovering from the ankle injury that had kept him out of the clash with Thailand.

Moments later, the visitors made it four and it was the goal the whole stadium had been praying for as Torres got his name on the scoresheet.

Kuyt was again the provider, racing into the box from the right and squaring across goal to give the Reds‘ No.9 the simple task of tapping home from close-range.

The Dutch ace made it a hat-trick of assists on 83 minutes when he directed Agger‘s pass into the path of Nemeth, who headed beyond the Lions‘ replacement custodian Lionel Lewis to make it 5-0 and put the seal on a fine evening‘s work for Liverpool.
