und SOLLTE niki bei uns bleiben, wird er auch weiterhin seine Leistung bringen. Er ist sich hoffentlich im Klaren darüber, dass auch nächstes Jahr noch genug Klubs Jagd auf ihn machen werden und er seine Karriereziele erreichen kann.

Personally I find it a fair price, I have no doubt Jela has great talent and would be a great signing but he is playing in Austria, no disrespect to you Vienna fans but it isn't exactly a "great" league just like our league in Scotland and with the money trouble Rangers have at the moment I can't see us spending 4M on one player.

I guess Jela won't be too please right now as he has already stated his desire to play for Rangers and I wouldn't be suprised at all if you guys get a hard draw tomorrow in the Europa and then get eliminated that your chairman will come back and accept our original bid.

Yeah, well, we already sold players for about EUR 5 Mio in the past (Hoffer, Ivanschitz). Those players had a market value far below Jelavic at the moment, since Jelavic turned out to score a lot in the Euro League. Jelavic is not Austrian, and just because Rapid is an Austrian team, I do not see why we have to sell him under his value. I'm glad our people see it the same way. Furthermore, there wouldn't be any development in our league if we kept selling out players far below their value.

A fair price would be around 5 Mill EUR, but I understand that you don't have the means at the moment. So I guess you'll just have to look elsewhere. I sincerely hope we won't sell out after the Euro League.

Er hat nun mal Vertrag und zudem muss er sich einfach klar werden/sein, dass seien Karriere deswegen net vorbei ist. Aber natürlich betrachte ich das Ganze aus seeehr subjektiver Sicht. Alles in Allem würde ich Niki aber schon so einschätzen, dass er für uns weiterhin alles gibt. oooder ein Verein bietet das, was wir uns vorstellen und mMn ist das verhältnismäßig eh noch fast günstig.

Sorry, but other croatian players who still play in their country are sold for 10 million or more pounds. Jelavic shot 13 ec goals and also was top in the austrian championship. Everything under 5 Million pounds would be a joke.

We Austrians are well aware of the fact that our championship's at quite a poor level. Nontheless, Jelavic scored 13 goals in 16 Europa League appearances, which should prove his worth and his ability to score against better teams as well.

Heh, I'd rather have one unhappy player than a bad example for all the others. If he's unhappy and starts playing shite we can send him to the rookie team, whatever. The team has its means. Hoffer's gone too early, that was his choice and he mostly failed because he was too dumb to learn proper Italian. Nevertheless it was a good deal for Rapid.

Ofc it is a risk for the Rangers to pay more. But that's what it takes to buy someone who scored like that in the EL already. We have learned from our own mistakes selling out ppl too cheap.

Edit: Btw, we don't really need the money that badly at the moment and we gave up on one of our best players already (Boskovic). I don't think Rapid wants to anger the fans even more by selling away the top scorer for a low price. Furthermore, at this point, we wouldn't be able to get a decent replacement.

Findest du Hörtnagl wirklich so provinziell? Er besorgt Spieler aus Weißrussland, Norwegen, Belgien bzw ist im Amateursektor auch für kleine Abenteuer aus den USA oder Brasilien zu haben. Er bemüht sich um Spieler von der Insel und scoutet mal zwischendurch einen Argentinier in der Schweiz(mit pp im Gepäck, da gibt es sehrwohl eine Einbindung des Trainers wobei er natürlich selbst entscheiden muss nachdem er auch die Verantwortung trägt und sich nicht billig am Trainer abzuputzen hat wenn ein Transfer nicht das bringt was man sich erhofft)

Imo passt der Sportdirektor gut zum Verein, wobei es schon verlockend wäre wenn man mal Beiersdorfer mit so beschränkten Mitteln beobachten könnte. Aber das wird keiner erleben bzw wären die Mittel nicht so überschaubar wenn man einen mehr als erfolgreichen Beiersdorfer beim HSV auslösen könnte.

Zulte hat auf einen sehr guten Spieler verzichten müssen und ist ein sehr großes Risiko eingegangen: stell dir vor Jelavic bleibt bis ins hohe Alter bei Rapid, dann kassiert Zulte nicht mehr viel bzw überhaupt erst nach Jahren! Oder stell dir vor Hörtnagl hätte ihn nicht von seinem Manager gelöst und zu einer Vertragsverlängerung bewegt -> die heiße Aktie wäre vielleicht noch ablösefrei gewechselt und Zulte hätte durch die Finger schaun müssen!

Ich glaube im Fall Jelavic hat Hörtnagl kaufmännisch vielleicht nicht grad 100% herausgeholt(wobei allein die Vertragsverlängerung und das Durchsetzten gegenüber Sturmschon ganz toll war), aber man hat auf jeden Fall seine social skills bewundern können, und die sind bei einem Club wo fast jeder Spieler von heute auf morgen weg sein könnte sehr wichtig.

I reckon this deal depends on Rapid qualifying for the Europa, if they fail to qualify I wouldn't put it passed your chairman accepting our original bid, if you qualify then no way are we gonna pay 3.5M in our financial state for a player who we cant play in European games.
