INTERPRETATION OF RULE 75 – UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT

NEW YORK/TORONTO (April 14, 2008) -- National Hockey League Senior

Executive Vice President and Director of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell

today issued the following advisory on the interpretation of Rule 75 -

Unsportsmanlike Conduct: "An unsportsmanlike conduct minor penalty (Rule

75) will be interpreted and applied, effective immediately, to a situation

when an offensive player positions himself facing the opposition goaltender

and engages in actions such as waving his arms or stick in front of the

goaltender's face, for the purpose of improperly interfering with and/or

distracting the goaltender as opposed to positioning himself to try to make

a play."

BPDNews.com - Last night, Sunday, April 13, 2008, around 9:06pm, Boston Police officers performing a detail at the TD Banknorth Garden arrested suspect, Walter Cutler, 40, of Scituate and charged him with Open and Gross Lewdness and Disorderly Conduct. During the Bruins game, officers’ attentions were drawn by numerous event goers as well as event staff to the upper seat section. Officers responded there and were directed to an individual in the stands. Officers were informed that the noted individual had been observed reaching into his pants with his hands and manipulating his hands inside his pants. According to event staff and event guests, the suspect then exposed himself and started urinating on event guests causing then to become hysterical and attempt to escape from the confined area.

Koivu was walking around at the TD Banknorth Garden on Sunday night with a plastic boot on his broken left foot and Carbonneau said he will definitely not suit up for Game 4. Koivu will undergo another set of X-rays on Wednesday, and if the fracture has healed sufficiently his situation will be re-assessed at that time.
