Milan eye Roman conquest

Milan are being linked with a swoop for Argentine midfield star Juan Roman Riquelme.

After signing Brazilian ace Emerson just before the close of the summer transfer window, the Rossoneri revealed that they wouldn’t be making any January purchases.

However, the Diavolo are expected to ring the changes next summer and may be willing to table an offer in advance.

It is believed that Riquelme’s club Villarreal are keen to cash in on the unsettled ex-Barcelona man before his contract expires in 2009.

It had appeared that the 29-year-old would leave for Atletico Madrid this summer and a fee of £5m had already been proposed, but the deal fell through.

While midfield isn’t seen as one of Milan’s weaker areas, the European champions may find it hard to resist the Albicelestes man as his new estimated price tag is just £3m.

An sich ja ein großartiger Spieler und im Umfeld von Milan dürfte er sich auch wohlfühlen, nur wozu er? Für die Bank ist er eindeutig zu schade, nur wen rausnehmen? Sinn machen würde seine Verpflichtung nur wenn man auf ein Def-Wing basiertes 4-2-3-1 mit Riquelme im Zentrum umsteigen würde, ansonsten hat das ganze keinen Sinn, es sei denn man gedenkt Clarence in Pension zu schicken, was ich stark bezweifel!

Und Gourcuff dürfte dabei auch auf der Strecke bleiben!...

Drogba moves towards Milan

There is increasing speculation that Chelsea ace Didier Drogba will join Milan after the Ivorian hitman spelled out his desire to leave London.

Since the departure of popular manager Jose Mourinho a number of Chelsea stars have been linked with moves, but it seems Drogba could be the first to reach the exit.

“I want to leave Chelsea and nothing can stop me now,” he told France Football.

“The damage in the dressing room is serious because we now know what happened and who caused Mourinho’s departure.

“I know that Ronaldinho and Kaka have been tipped to come here next season, but even that won’t change my mind.”

Drogba has recently confessed that he would happily move to Italy and stressed his great respect for Milan.

The Rossoneri are reportedly searching for an alternative to Brazilian striker Ronaldo, as El Fenomeno is notoriously injury-plagued.

It is suspected that Didier’s latest comments will lead to the first official meeting between representatives of the two clubs.

Ist ja nicht unbedingt so, dass er von seiner Schnelligkeit lebt!

Er lebt von seinem sehr körperbetonten Spiel, er ist ein perfekter Athlet. Meiner Meinung nach wird er einknicken, er wurde auch mit Real in Verbindung gebracht, ich will ihn aber auf keinen Fall.

Ja bei Real hat man ja auch schon einen ähnlichen Stürmer mit Van, der mMn sogar noch ein Unzerl höher einzustufen ist als Drogba! Daher ist das verständlich.

Bei der Inter gibt es auch genug Stürmer, Barca behindert ein Stürmer seiner Sorte wohl nur den Angriffssturm und Marseille wird ihn sich kaum leisten können, demnach kann seine Destination, sofern er eine Freigabe bekommt und Milan bereit wäre seine geforderte Ablöse zu zahlen, nur gen Mailand gehen. Wo er mMn auch am besten hineinpassen würde.

Villarreal And Juventus In Tiago-Riquelme Swap?

Want-away Juventus midfielder Tiago Mendes could be on the way to Villarreal, according to rumours in the Italian press. What's more, Juan Roman Riquelme could potentially be heading the other way...

Tiago, crestfallen after a difficult start to his career at the Old Lady, recently hit out publicly at the club for his lack of first team opportunities in Turin.

Enraged coach Claudio Ranieri, promptly fired back that the ex-Lyon midfielder was not bigger than the team, and that he'd continue to choose the starting XI as he saw fit.

Consequently, the relationship between the pair is thought to have hit a new low, with the Portuguese international's idea of moving on in January perhaps taking on a new air of seriousness.

Compare and contrast this to Juan Roman Riquelme's current situation at Villarreal. The Liga high-flyers recently restated that the gifted Argentine did not figure in coach Manuel Pellegrini's first team plans.

Indeed, the Yellow Submarine hierarchy pledged that they would do their best to offload the playmaker in January, with a host of top European and Argentinean clubs thought to be interested.

Juventus could be amongst them, and that's why various peninsular papers have speculated about a swap deal involving Tiago and Riquelme.

The move could take place in January and could presumably take the form of a part-exchange deal. Villarreal are thought to be ready to cut their losses with Riquelme, while Juve want to recover some of the 13 million euros that they splashed on Tiago.

For now, of course, this remains mere paper talk. Nonetheless, it's possible that each of the two players would be excited with the prospect of their respective switch...

Riquelme würde mir sehr gut gefallen bei uns, würde zur im Moment etwas fehlenden spielerischen Stärke eine Menge beitragen. Spielertypen wie Tiago haben wir genung, doch einen richtigen "10er" wie Riquelme haben wir seit Zidane schon lange nicht, deshalb würde mir so ein Tausch sehr gut gefallen, auch wenn ich glaube das Riquelme wohl nach Argentinien heimkehren wird, aber mal schauen.

Die diesmaligen Verdächtigen heißen:

Abwehr: Raggi (Empoli), Dossena (Udinese) --> Beide Rechtsverteidiger!

Mittelfeld: Julio Baptista (Real Madrid)

Angriff: Anelka (Bolton), Bianchi (Manchester City), Amauri (Palermo), Huntelaar (Ajax)

Wenn ich aus diesen Spielern wählen müsste, dann würde ich Dossena und Huntelaar nehmen!

Auch bei Juventus kursieren einige Namen herum, vorallem fürs zentrale Mittelfeld, bei einem frühzeitigem Abgang von Tiago.

Frank Lampard (Chelsea), weil Mourinho weg ist.

Mohammed Sissoko (Liverpool), weil er bei Liverpool nicht so oft zum Zug kommt.

Miguel Luis Veloso (Sporting), weil man sich wohl ein Tauschgeschäft mit Sporting vorstellen kann.

Radoslav Kovac (Spartak Moskau), weil, weiß ich auch nicht warum.

Brauch keinen von diesen 4, da behalte ich lieber Tiago und gebe ihn etwas mehr Zeit, vorallem wenn man im Sommer sowieso auf Marchisio, Paro, de Ceglie und Giovinco zurückgreifen kann. Wenn man im Winter unbedingt wenn verpflichten möchte, dann nur einen absoluten Weltklassespieler alla Riquelme, der uns weiter helfen würde. Will nicht damit sagen das Lampard kein Weltklassespieler ist, doch er würde uns nicht weiterhelfen.

Milans neuer Oddo-BackUp könnte Zebina heißen. Denn laut Medienberichten könnte es zu einem Tausch zwischen Milan und Juventus kommen. Tauschobjekt wäre Dario Simic!

Außerdem spekuliert die AS über einen möglichen Wechsel von Kanouté zu Milan.
