Roma Not For Sale To Americans, Sensi

Roma general manager Rossella Sensi was euphoric following her side's 2-1 win against Milan at the Olimpico stadium on Saturday evening in the 28th matchday of Serie A. She also remarked that, contrary to recent reports, the giallorossi were not to be sold to a group of American investors.

Sensi was extremely happy with the Giallorossi's win against the Rossoneri on Saturday, which cut the lead from league leaders Inter down to 3 points and re-opened the Scudetto race.

"It was a great Milan that we faced, therefore there's a lot of satisfaction," commented the general manager at the end of the game.

"I think that Roma enjoy playing and winning, so we will continue going forward and we shall see," she continued.

Sensi yet again categorically denied that Roma will be sold to an American group, as has been speculated over the last few weeks.

"On Sunday there will be a further denial statement. I'm very sorry that this sort of news come out always before important games. These are news items which disturb the team.

"Roma is an important club. Last time I denied that this was happening, but it wasn't enough as no one believed me.

"We have the right to take legal action in order to protect the interests of both the club and its shareholders," she concluded.

ja unsere liebe rossella...würde ich cool finden wenn das aus 100 % überzeugung gesagt werden würde.aber leider haben die ja wirklich viele schulden und das einzige was sie da halbwegs herausretten würde ist la roma.sensi hätte es zwar so nicht getan wenn er das geld noch gehabt hätte aber die unicredit wartet auch nciht ewig...

Spalletti: I Don’t Need Messi

Luciano Spalletti is in relaxed mood ahead of tonight’s derby with Lazio, and joked that he doesn’t need Lionel Messi at Roma because he already has three or four players just like him.

The Giallorossi are undoubtedly the most in-form side in Italy currently, having won four of their last five league games, as well as defeating Real Madrid home-and-away in the Champions League last 16.

Roma have cut Inter’s lead at the top of Serie A to just six points, with 10 games remaining, and tonight will be looking to make further inroads when they play city-rivals Lazio in the explosive Derby della Capitale.

Coach Luciano Spalletti seems in relaxed mood ahead of the big game, and when asked by reporters if he would like to have Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi in his Roma team, the tactician joked: "I already have three or four like him.”

Roma are on course to meet Messi’s Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final next month.

The two teams will play each other if Roma can negotiate their way past last eight opponents Manchester United, and if Barcelona can beat Schalke 04.

Totti: Ballon D’Or Is Fixed!

Roma talisman Francesco Totti has launched a sensational attack at the selection process for the Ballon d’Or award, and says the fact that a player like Raul has never won the prize proves that it is fixed.

Real Madrid symbol Raul has had a stunning club career, and was a major protagonist in the Merengues Champions League victories from 1998, 2000 and 2002.

Despite also being the all-time top scorer in the Champions League, as well as winning a host of other individual and team honours, Raul has surprisingly never won the coveted Ballon d’Or.

Roma captain Francesco Totti, who has also been repeatedly snubbed in the past, believes it is all a fix.

“I think it’s a scandal that such a good player [Raul] who has scored everywhere and won everything has never received the Ballon d’Or,” he roared.

“The fact that a player can score 20 or 30 goals and win the Champions League and the Scudetto but not the Ballon d’Or suggests that it’s all pre-decided.

“I think that 2000 was my best chance. It was the year after we won the Scudetto, we did well in the Champions League and could have won it, but I don’t know what I had to do to win the Ballon d’Or.”

Totti Boost For Roma

Roma have received a massive boost ahead of a crucial five days for the club as inspirational leader Francesco Totti has managed to shake off an injury that threatened his participation against Cagliari this weekend and also the hotly anticipated Champions League showdown against Manchester United next Tuesday.

The Giallorossi skipper received a knock to the kneed during practice on Tuesday but was back to full training on Friday and has been given the all-clear for the must-win Serie A match in Cagliari on Saturday.

Coach Luciano Spalletti will have breathed a huge sigh of relief to see Totti back running the paces again, as will already have to make due without Simone Perrotta, Daniele De Rossi and Mirko Vucinic due to suspension.

Their win over Empoli last weekend combined with Inter's loss against Juventus propelled the capital Roma to just four points of the defending champions with eight games to go in the season.

"We have to take it one game at a time," commented Spalletti. "This is a crucial time of the season and we must maintain our focus."
