Exclusive picture of the new home kit

Arsenal players, including Club captain Patrick Vieira, Dennis Bergkamp and Ashley Cole today fully reveal next season’s commemorative kit under the watchful eye of Club legend Herbert Chapman in the historic East Stand Marble Halls.

Available to pre-order from Wednesday 8th June, the players show off the strip to be worn throughout the 2005/2006 season - Arsenal’s last season at Highbury — which is inspired by the first one ever worn at the ground in 1913.

y calling 020 8342 5858 or visiting the Arsenal.com online store, supporters will be able to secure their own historic kit, and from 22nd June until 26th June fans will be given the chance to retrace the players’ steps when the kit is launched, through arranged open days.

Anyone that buys the commemorative kit from the Arsenal Shop or Arsenal World of Sport or Noth Bank Shop will have free access to many areas within the historic sporting venue, including the East Stand Marble Halls, player dressing rooms and also the tunnel and dug out area. There will also be a Highbury Farewell photography exhibition within the North Bank, featuring iconic images of Highbury and the Club’s successes at the ground over the years that supporters can visit at their leisure.

Club captain Patrick Vieira said: 'The last season at Highbury will be very, very special for everyone at the Club not to mention the fans.  That's why I think it is fantastic that we will be wearing a commemorative kit that represents the history of this of magnificent stadium. The kit is different to the red and white one we have become so attached to but this special season deserves a special kit and having seen it, I for one think that going back to the first ever kit from 1913 is a really nice touch."

Club research and sporting memorabilia within the Arsenal Museum confirm the very first kit worn at the stadium was a much darker red, similar to that of Sparta Prague, who actually based their kit on Arsenal's original kit way back in 1906. The Club is returning to this redcurrant shade for one season only, to recreate and reflect the origins of this unique stadium.

The commemorative kit is being manufactured by Arsenal’s kit suppliers Nike, and is one of many initiatives coordinated to celebrate the Club's time at Arsenal Stadium. For full information on Arsenal’s Open Days please refer to Arsenal.com for updates in the coming weeks.

Ich finde auch, dass sie schön geworden sind, doch an die Roten habe ich mich irgendwie sehr gewöhnt und finde die roten Trikots ein bisschen besser.

Insgesamt, sind die Neunen aber echt in Ordnung.

naja - wie gesagt, die dressen sind retro trikots von 1913 - der ersten Highbury Saison Arsenals, also irgendwie eine nette idee vom klub - doch wäre auch das alte crest, sowie kein sponsor toll gewesen

die dressen der letzten 4 saisons waren imho zum kotzen, also ist das mal ein schritt vorwärts, auch wenn die weißen ärmel dieses jahr mal abgehen, kann sein das ich mir heuer nach dem 99er auswärts jersey mal wieder ein aktuelles zu lege - die chancen stehen auf jedenfall höher als die jahre zuvor

Cole appeals 'tapping-up' ruling

Ashley Cole has confirmed that he will be appealing against the Premier League's 'tapping-up' ruling.

The England international was hit with a £100,000 fine after the Premier League launched an investigation into a meeting between the player, his agent and Chelsea officials.

Chelsea and Mourinho were also hit by large fines and a three-point suspended sentence but Cole feels the ruling was unjust and has vowed to defend his name with the backing of agent Jonathan Barnett.

The England defender's behaviour was deemed to have been 'unacceptable', but 'manipulated to a large extent by his agent' - in a commission published by the Premier League.

An FA Premier League appeals board is now set to be appointed, which will be made up of an independent legally-qualified chairman and two FA councillors.

Cole's legal team are believed to have appealed against both the judgement of the independent commission in finding the player guilty of the offences stated - as well as the financial penalty handed out.

If Chelsea are to do likewise, they have a 14-day deadline to lodge an official appeal.

Arsenal's Ashley Cole is appealing against a Premier League punishment for his role in the England defender's "tapping up" by champions Chelsea. A Premier League spokesman said on Monday: "I can confirm that his legal team have lodged an appeal.

Cole was fined 100,000 pounds (150,000 euros), Chelsea 300,000 (450,000 euros) pounds and their manager Jose Mourinho 200,000 (300,000 euros) pounds after all three were found guilty last Wednesday of breaking Premier League rules by meeting at a London hotel in Janaury.

Cole, along with the other parties, were given 14 days to appeal.

A three-man Premier League appeals board will now be formed, at a date to be arranged, the spokesman said.

It will comprise a legally-qualified independent chairman and two members of the Football Association (FA) Council.

Though Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck said after last week's verdict they would almost certainly lodge an appeal, none had been received by the Premier League by mid-afternoon on Monday.

Chelsea's punishment included a warning they would be docked three points if they committed a similar offence -- making an approach to a contracted player without first obtaining the permission of his club -- next season.

Cole was found guilty of approaching another club with a view to negotiating a contract without obtaining the prior written consent of his club, while Mourinho was found to be in breach of a rule governing managers' conduct.

Monday's move came two days after Arsenal's north London neighbours Tottenham Hotspur suspended their director of football, Frank Arnesen, saying the Dane had been approached by Chelsea without their permission.

Wenger has been granted a substantial transfer budget as the Highbury outfit look to bridge the gap with London rivals Chelsea, and are reportedly in negotiations with The Swabians about their star midfielder.

The 24-year-old is believed to have a buy-out clause of around €15 million in his contract, and would provide strong competition for Freddie Ljungberg on the right wing.

Hleb himself has previously admitted that Arsenal are heading a list of prestigious sides vying for his signature, including Milan, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Agent Uli Feber has now reaffirmed his client's interest about pursuing a career in England, whilst insisting that no accord has yet been struck between the clubs.

"He is interested in playing for Arsenal but no deal has been reached," said Feber.

Wenger has made no secret of his desire to bring in midfield reinforcements, and could make Hleb the first signing of the summer in a bid to reclaim the Premiership trophy.
