CarolusMagnus Santini Tottenham Geschrieben 18. EDIT: Auf Wikipedia stehts auch: » Club record amount of consecutive wins in Europe (8; 2006-07 season)» Achieved the British record amount of consecutive wins in Europe (8; 2006-07 season) Ad Sevilla: Nachdem die Verletzungsmisere kein Ende nimmt: Sicher kommen wir weiter! Kanoute: Spurs are favourites By Francisco Acedo - Created on 17 Mar 2007 Sevilla striker Fredi Kanoute has admitted he is not feeling confident about his side's upcoming Uefa Cup clash with Tottenham. The former Spurs man, 29, feels that his current side face a mammoth task if they are to progress to the semi-finals of the competition they won last year. "I do not believe Sevilla are the favourites for the game even though we are the champions," he said. "Spurs have a very good team. I know the club from my time as a player, and it is not possible to be confident about the two matches. "I think we have the ability to win, but it will take a massive effort. It is necessary for us to go to London having had a good result at home and without having conceded. "I believe it will be a round with many goals. "With men like Defoe and Keane, they are dangerous. I don't know Berbatov all that well, but the reports say he is excellent. Tottenham have a dangerous attack and a strong defence." But Kanoute did claim he was pleased to face his old club. "Personally, I am happy with the draw and the chance to return to my former club, but I am not aiming for revenge. For me, football is a game and not a war." Jammerschade, dass der gute Freddie damals so blöd war, dass man ihn loswerden mußte. Tormaschine war er zwar keine, aber er und Berbatov wären einfach unglaublich. NTERVIEW: DIMITAR BERBATOV 15/03/2007 16:23:56 INTERVIEW: DIMITAR BERBATOV It has been suggested recently - from a bias point of view, probably quite rightly so - that the tag 'signing of the season' could easily be attached to one Dimitar Berbatov. However, it is a sign attached to a wall in the changing room at the training ground that appeals more to the footballing nature of the quietly spoken Bulgarian. The message on this particular piece of signage simply emphasises the team ethic, which is clearly deeply embedded in the 26-year-old. So, although the plaudits have been flowing thick and fast in the direction of the striker who has netted 17 goals in all competitions so far this season following his move from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer, he is not one to bask in the glory of kind words - far happier, in fact, to deflect any glory around the group as a whole. "The most important thing for me is the fact that the team have been doing very well," insisted Dimitar, who believes that team spirit is the ingredient that will most see the squad through such a congested fixture list. "We have a sign up in the locker room saying 'we don't have a star, the team is the star' and that is the way we all feel. "We've shown in recent games that we have a very good team, with talented players and if we continue on this road then we can achieve a lot. We have had difficult weeks and months with a lot of games and a bit of tiredness, but this is football. This is why we chose this profession, I love it and want to play as much as possible. "When you finish one game you can't wait to get into another and, even though you feel tired, you want to play. It is the same for everybody." It is the togetherness of the squad and staff that saw the man known around the Club as 'Berba' not suffer a touch of homesickness over the festive period when his previous norm while in Germany was an extended winter break. A gesture and a few words from the manager while holed up on the south coast did much to quell any pangs of wanting to be some place else. "To tell you the truth, it didn't bother me too much," he reflected. "At first I was thinking it would be difficult to be away from my family and friends for Christmas and New Year because I was used to going home to celebrate and spend time with them. "The night we stayed at the hotel before playing Portsmouth away on New Year's Day we were sitting together having dinner and the gaffer came along with a glass of Champagne. He said 'okay boys, I know it is difficult for everybody, but I am happy to be here with you because we are like a family'. "After that it didn't bother me anymore because the reality is that I chose this career and no matter what, we are like a big family and that is why we have shown so much progress as a team over the last couple of months. Like I say all the time, if you play like a team you have no problems. The most important thing is to show on the pitch that we are there for one another. When somebody is hurt or not having a good time, you go and encourage them - stuff like that matters. When it is said to you, you feel more confident and start playing well. "From the first day I came everybody was really nice to me, not only the guys in the team, but people who work around the team too. It really helped me to settle and I am really thankful for that. "The way to show that I am really thankful is to score goals and play the way I can." Our current run of six games unbeaten - which includes five wins and 20 goals for - has proved the perfect response to the post-Christmas sequence that attracted much comment and column inches. As Dimitar is someone with the ingrained habit of deflecting compliments, it will come as little surprise to learn that criticism is shrugged off as being just 'normal'. "It is always important to think in the right way - and a good way - about yourself and the team," he explained. "There was a time when we weren't playing very well and it is normal for people to speak about this and say were in crisis. "When you are not getting the results people say bad things, when you win everybody is pleased. It is normal in football and in life. When you are in such a position you need to believe in yourself and prove how good you are, which we have. "Now we are in good form we must maintain it and keep our concentration, play with 100 per cent focus and then we will have no problems whatsoever." As reluctant as he was to spend time talking about his own game, Dimitar was quick with his answer when asked if we are seeing the best of him at the moment, or is there yet more talent to showcase to his White Hart Lane audience. "I hope so! I don't want to have my best game or season, I want to achieve more and more and develop more and more and for my best game to be well in the future. My goal is to develop and improve, that is why I came here," he continued, adding that he does suspect he is now in tune with the demands of Premiership football. "Maybe you could say so. Perhaps some people might say I am not fully there and I want to get better and in every practice and every game to learn new things. Obviously I will have good and bad games, but the thing is to learn from your mistakes, correct them the next time and continue in the right way." bearbeitet 18. Fotos gibts auf der Standard-Homepage, irr, wie der Typ mit gefletschten Zähnen auf Lampard losgeht und der sich wegduckt. Naja, wenn Chelsea zwei Wundertore macht und wir zu ideenlos spielen, braucht man sich unterm Strich nicht zu wundern. Egal, jetzt hol ma halt den UEFA-Cup . 0 Zitieren Diesen Beitrag teilen Link zum Beitrag Auf anderen Seiten teilen

CarolusMagnus Santini Tottenham Geschrieben 9. April 2007 Unsere Claire 'They kept hitting supporters. All you could do was cushion the blows'By Gordon Tynan Published: 07 April 2007 The Sky Sports presenter Clare Tomlinson, who was at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium in Seville as a Tottenham supporter, backed the club's version of Thursday night's events when fans clashed with police. She condemned the behaviour of the Spanish police, saying: "We were watching the game but you couldn't do that because they kept running down the aisles and hitting out at the supporters. "Then they say the supporters are reacting. When you're watching girls being hit, when you're watching disabled fans being attacked, people aren't just going to stand back and say 'well, that's OK'. Clearly, they're going to try and make their point known. "I had people crying on my shoulder asking me to help them," she added. "All you could do was cushion the blows. When you tried to speak to these people, the police, they just pushed you away." She added on Sky Sports News: "At half-time, we all got out of the stand - some of the people I was with - we all stood right at the back. There were five girls there with two lads and the police came at us there. We were clearly trying to get out of the way of the trouble and they threw us down some stairs and the boys got hit. "If fans are going to that extent of trying to keep away from it then really the police have got some questions to answer." Daniel Wynne, of the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust, was also at the game and was strongly critical of the police's handling of the affair. "It was pretty much a massive over-reaction by Spanish police," he said. "It had been a perfect day up to then but was spoilt by some over-zealous police officers, who started throwing their weight around, for want of a better term. "After the[seville] penalty a couple of fans got a bit excited about that," he added, "but nothing more than shouting at the pitch. There was no violence. Spurs fans weren't causing any trouble. The police went over and above acting as stewards. "The supporters were trying to calm things down but it looked like the Spanish police, from where we were, started jabbing at them with batons. We saw a guy in a wheelchair get hit by a couple of batons, the police piling into him." Wynne blamed the police for the scenes as he said when officers eventually dispersed just after half-time, the violence died down and even after the game there was no trouble. Sevilla eine schmutzige Mannschaft, der Schiedsrichter ein Komödiant und die Polizei ein Haufen von Vollidioten. Wenigstens die Sevillafans waren in Ordnung. 0 Zitieren Diesen Beitrag teilen Link zum Beitrag Auf anderen Seiten teilen

themanwho Silver Torah Geschrieben 12.
