Sochindani Postinho Geschrieben 18. I think we actually agree on many things. It's just that we see them in such different perspectives. I have done my research on RBS. I know that there is up to 30 million euros invested every year in the club. I think that is very relevant. Most Irish people support foreign soccer. It is shameful actually. Real irish soccer fans are the guys like me, and the people you have been arguing with on the forum. Not the idiots you see wearing Celtic, Liverpool, ManU or Ireland shirts. Irish clubs, if they had the support of the Irish public would be as good and as strong as most 2nd tier teams in Europe such as Austrian, Czech, Portugese. You mentioned yourself that St Patricks eliminated a Russian team. The Russian league is very strong, maybe stronger than the Austrian? But St Patricks are a very average Irish team. Nothing special. We just beat them 2-0 in their own stadium! It is not as simple as 'seeding means better'. Seeding has many faults. The Co efficient is nothing short of a disgrace, formed to help the rich get richer. My club, Bohemian FC is struggling for survival. Progressing past Salzburg would have went a long way to helping the club survive. I still firmly believe that we would have a good chance to beat Zagreb. Irish teams have been good against Croatian teams recently. For me, Zagreb were a weaker team than Salzburg. Anyway, what I am trying to explain is that while Red Bull pump huge funding into your club, and while it may be below what the English league has, it still looks huge to Irish Clubs. Our players are well capable of making it in the championship league in England, and many players in the league here have played at that level. But most European teams don't realise that. They think the game will be against a team full of milkmen and postmen. Not any more. But the way things are going for the League of Ireland, it may be time to go back to those days. Maybe you can see the difference between us progressing and saving the League of Ireland, Salzburg eliminated but come back again next year anyway? But the way it has worked out, our league remains on it's knees while a team that are bought by an energy drink franchise carries on regardless? Can you understand the frustration of the true football fan with this scenario? I am not asking you to stop supporting your team, of course not. If Red Bull bought my team, they'd still be my team. But I am trying to help you understand the reason why people are so opinionated on this matter. I have no animosity towards you. You seem very reasonable. Most of your early posts were friendly. Thats cool. so und dann der zweite post: Hi Daniel. Thanks for the reply. Of course you may use my post anywhere you like. But I would like to add some information which may be useful to you. I totally agree that, in general, Austrian teams, and Croation teams and Czech teams and Russian teams are better than irish teams. Ingeneral. Of course they are. There is more money in those leagues. So much more. There is also so much support for those teams from their own people. The biggest problem with Irish clubs is, the Irish people don't support Irish clubs for the most part and therefore the money is not there at all. Most clubs are operating at an unsustainable loss. However, for the past 8 to 10 years, irish clubs have gone full time professional. Some players have returned from England and joined Irish teams and we've been getting some good results in Europe. My team, Bohemians have beaten Aberdeen, Bate Borisov in Europe, and progressed to the next rounds, we have also beaten Kaiserslautern in Germany, although we did not progress at that time. Over the years, we've probably been the best of the Irish clubs in Europe, however it is also a good example to point out that Shelbourne, another Dublin club eliminated Hadjuk Split and Lille in the champions league recently, before losing 2-0 on aggregate to Deportivo la Coruna. Last season St Patricks eliminated Elfsborg, who had earlier easily beaten Hibernian of Scotland. St Patricks went on to lose, unluckily to Hertha Berlin. Another Irish Club Drogheda were very close to eliminating Dynamo Kiev. It cannot be that all of these results are freak accidents, you know? The Irish clubs are stronger that the Scottish clubs now(except for Celtic and Rangers). Can you imagine if Irish people supported Irish teams? We'd have a genuine chance of making something of our league. I watched Manchester United versus Birmingham city on saturday and saw 2 young Irish players play for Birmingham in Old Trafford. Both were very recent products of the League of Ireland, Keith Fahey and Jay O'Shea. 2 or 3 of the Bohemians players will probaby sign for English clubs in the coming weeks or months. Deegan, Powell and the goal keeper, Murphy. In conclusion, we know that in general we're not considered as good as leagues of your teams level, but we are very close. We can only hope that other people continue to underestimate us! If you felt offended by some of the people here, then please don't take it too badly. Most of what they're saying is due to frustration that the club is in danger of disappearing, and they are passionate supporters. bearbeitet 18.
