Cicinho Eyeing Success Over Real Madrid

Cicinho believes that AS Roma can defeat his old club Real Madrid in the last sixteen of the Champions League.

The sides are scheduled to meet at the Stadio Olimpico for the first leg on the 19th February, with the return leg in Madrid two weeks later and Cicinho feels Roma have a great chance to defeat his former employers.

"Roma will eliminate my old team," he told the Corriere dello Sport.

"I give us a 90% chance, whereas to Madrid I seriously only give 10%."

Despite his confidence, Cicinho is wary of the threat posed by his compatriot Robinho and Dutch striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy, whom he describes as Real's "most dangerous players" and as the ones that can "change the shape of the game at any time".

He went to say that he was "not very happy" in Madrid, although he did enjoy good relationships with Van Nistelrooy, Sergio Ramos, Mahamadou Diarra and Fabio Cannavaro during his time there.

Cicinho is finding Rome much more to his liking and is enjoying playing along a number of his compatriots for the Giallorossi.

He joined Roma in the summer for 9 million Euros after two years at Real and has performed well at his new club when he has got into the side.

His form has attracted the attention of Brazilian national coach Dunga, who thinks that 2008 could be the year that the right-back breaks into the Brazil team on a regular basis.

ich mag beide mannschaften ned so besonders - also is ma eigentlich wurscht, wer weiterkommt.

Aber Roma und CL-Finale?

Also ich wüsste jetzt auch nicht, was daran so witzig sein soll.

Da sind schon ganz andere Mannschaften ins CL-Finale gekommen....
