Milan on Rossi trail

European champions Milan are set to make an offer to Manchester United for Italian starlet Giuseppe Rossi.

The youngster has been made available for transfer by the Old Trafford outfit given the likely arrival of Carlos Tevez from West Ham.

Parma have already made a £6m offer for the Under-21 international, but the Italian giants are ready to outbid them.

Stories in the peninsula on Sunday claim that Rossi would be willing to join Milan, even if he does have a bond with Parma after his goals kept them in the top-flight during his loan stint last term.

Milan are expected to make a formal financial proposal once Vice-President Adriano Galliani holds transfer status talks with owner Silvio Berlusconi on Tuesday.

The Rossoneri are looking for new striking options, especially as Ricardo Oliveira is on the verge of joining Real Zaragoza on loan.

His departure will leave boss Carlo Ancelotti with just three options in the shape of Ronaldo, Alberto Gilardino and veteran Pippo Inzaghi.

Juventus, at the request of former Parma boss Claudio Ranieri, and Porto are also understood to be pondering a Rossi bid.

Meanwhile, Galliani has rejected claims in Spain that Kaka’s new contract – which they are working on – will include a rescission clause in it.

“These things don’t exist in Italian football,” noted the official. “This rumour has nothing to do with reality.”

Milan are keen to tie down the Brazilian to a fresh deal in a bid to keep him from wanting a Real Madrid transfer.

für den Spieler wäre es einen Riesenschritt, aber ich würds schade finden, falls er bei euch kaputt geht

Also ich glaube, dass es lange nicht mehr eine so große Chance für einen jungen Stürmer bei Milan gab wie heuer. Ronaldo ist gesetzt, aber der zweite Platz ist frei, und Inzaghi ist quasi nur noch als Joker im Kader, und Gilardino ist nicht unumstritten, demnach kann ein junger hungriger Stürmer da ordentlich Druck machen und Rossi hätte sicher das Potenzial sich mit Gila zu messen, und wer weiß, vielleicht schnappt er sich sogar den Platz neben Ronaldo.

Ich persönlich würde mich jedenfalls über eine Verpflichtung von Rossi freuen!

Ich glaub nicht, dass die Verpflichtung eine explizite Absage an Pato wäre. Der junge Brasilianer dürfte ohnehin erst ab Januar bei uns spielen! Daher wäre es eine Alternative bzw eine tolle Ergänzung!

Und selbst wenn es eine indirekte wäre, ändert nichts an der Tatsache, dass man den jungen Brasilianer, speziell Ancelotti, haben will.

Durchaus kein fehler 5 Stürmer im Kader zu haben! Va weil es möglicherweise Pippos letzte Saison ist.

Bianchi wanted in England

A trio of Premiership clubs are interested in Reggina’s Rolando Bianchi after his expected switch to Napoli collapsed.

Manchester City, Portsmouth and Arsenal are all being associated with the striker who will be sacrificed by the southern minnows this summer.

Napoli and Reggina agreed terms over a fee for the former Under-21 international last week, but Bianchi’s stuttering annoyed the Azzurri who subsequently pulled out of the race to sign him.

That development has again alerted some of Europe’s big guns to the attacker who netted 18 Serie A goals last term.

However, it is understood that Bianchi would like to remain in Italy and that is why he hasn’t been too concerned with the interest of Valencia and Atletico Madrid either.

So where could he move to in Italy? Whispers in the peninsula suggest that Fiorentina and Milan are his most likely destinations at the present time.

The Viola are putting their faith in youth and know that Bianchi can play together alongside Gianpaolo Pazzini after their successful partnership at Azzurrini level in the past.

Milan may also make a bid even if Bianchi seems to be some way down their attacking wish list at the moment.

The agent of Inter defender Nicolas Burdisso has suggested that his client could realistically join Juventus this summer.

The Argentine is one of a number of stoppers to be on the radar of the Serie B champions and a move to Turin may be on the horizon.

“There has been contact with Juventus and their interest in him is real,” revealed representative Fernando Hidalgo.

Although the latter insists that the former Boca Juniors star is happy at the San Siro, he’s admitted that there are contract concerns.

“Burdisso is a professional and he would stay at Inter for his entire career if it was up to him,” added Hidalgo.

“But the present situation is that he has a contract which expires in 2009, but which is relatively low [financially].

“Inter have made us a first renewal offer but we have rejected it.”

Hidalgo is now set to fly into Milan for talks with the Italian champions in a bid to find a solution to the problem.

“I’ll be back in Italy on Monday to talk with Inter,” he commented. “We’ll just have to see what happens next.”

Burdisso, 26, joined the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2004 after they pipped Palermo to his signature.
