Das Deutsche Kolonial-Lexikon (1920), Band II, S. 77 ff schreibt dazu:

Hottentotten (s. Tafel 65, 66, 183). Die H. nennen sich selbst Koikoin, was soviel wie Menschen bedeutet. Als Naman faßt man dagegen jetzt am besten alle H.Stämme von Deutsch-Südwestafrika zusammen, obwohl diese Bezeichnung ursprünglich wohl nur für die vor 1800 dort vorhandenen Hottentotten galt. Das sonderbare Wort "Hottentott" hat man meist als einen holländischen Spottnamen bezeichnen wollen, doch finden sich auch Erklärungen, nach denen es fremden, selbst nordafrikanischen Ursprunges (Hadendoa) sein sollte.

But it´s possible that he didn´t answer immediately because he´s supporting 2 boards (one with 160 users and this with over 10.000 users) and he is really overloaded with work. Please be considerately with him.

But probably sending him 300 pms and 150 emails every day - like he does send them to his boss Dannyo - would accelerate the whole contact-procedure. At least you should try! If he still ignores you, you should contact him on icq every 5 minutes.
