Das würde ich nicht so krass ausdrücken, denn Carlos läuft Wege die kein anderer Verteidiger in Europa Konditionell schaffen würde. Außerdem ist er nicht nur Torgefährlich, sondern auch technisch stark, bzw. schnell und hat eine gute Ballkontrolle.

Rooney saga nears end

Wayne Rooney's transfer saga could finally be concluded on Monday with Manchester United closing in on the teenager.

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright will meet with United chief executive David Gill before the Premiership encounter between the sides at Old Trafford.

United tabled an improved bid of £25m on Saturday and both clubs remain in negotiation, with Everton holding out for an offer nearer their £30m valuation for the striker.

They are however now willing to take a player as part of any deal. They have asked about Brazilian World Cup winner Kleberson, but the midfielder is reluctant to leave Old Trafford.

Newcastle now look to be out of the race to sign Rooney after manager Sir Bobby Robson was "relieved of his duties" at St James' Park.

Ich weiß nicht so recht, ich habe mir den Christiano Ronaldo schon angeschaut bevor er bei Manu denn Durchbruch geschafft hat.

Man konnte sein Talent schon riechen, also ich weiß nicht so recht ob der Herr Sir. Alex so viel zu tun hatte.

Ronaldo kam ja nur zu ManU, weil er letzte Saison in einem Vorbereitungsspiel mit Sporting gegen ManU zwei Tore erzielte und eines vorlegte, dabei O'Shea Knoten in die Füße spielte. Im Flieger heim nach England überzeugte O'Shea Ferguson dann von einer Verpflichtung.

Im Gegensatz zu irgendwelchen Klatschseiten wie calciomercato, skysports oder was auch immer, ist der Teletext zumeist doch eine durchaus seriöse Quelle, der Dinge erst schreibt sobald ein bestimmter Wahrheitsgehalt dahinter ist, daher weiß ich gar nicht was du so deppad lachst.

Aber, was du im teletext liest ist auch nix anderes als eine Meldung einer Presseagentur. Weder bei BBC, noch beim Guardian, liest man derart Konkretes über die Rooneyposse.

Ausserdem würde ich, an Stelle von Everton, klar dem Angebot von Newcastle den Vorzug geben, da diese die 25 Millionen Pfund Cash auf den Tisch legen könnten und nicht so wie United eine Ratenzahlung im Auge haben, wobei der Grossteile erst mit dem nächstjährigen Transferbudget abgedeckt werden soll.

Auch Rooney solls eher in den Nordosten ziehen, was sich aber durch den Rausschmiss von Robson geändert haben könnte.

Am ehesten glaube ich, dass Rooney bis Jänner Everton Spieler bleibt, obwohl ich damit, wäre ich ein Toffee, nicht zufrieden wäre. Denn Rooney zeigt kein Bisschen Dankbarkeit dem Club gegenüber, der aus ihm das gemacht hat, was er ist. Aber seit dem Bossman Urteil haben halt leider die Spieler die Vereine in der Hand und Everton braucht jeden Penny um ihre Schulden abzudecken. Für Rooney eine äusserst vorteilhafte Konstellation !

Hier mal ein Auszug aus einem Guardianartikel zu den gewünschten Zahlungsmodalitäten von Scum United :

United's proposed £25m offer would see around £10m paid up front with a further cash payment made next year, taken from Sir Alex Ferguson's transfer budget for the 2005-06 season, and future fees based on appearances and honours. There would also be a 25% sell-on clause for any subsequent transfer fee, above £25m, which United receive for Rooney.

While such a clause might be considered generous, Everton remain aware that the £23.5m offer they rejected from Newcastle last week was a straight cash deal. Should the north-east club's chairman Freddy Shepherd, as expected, return with a higher bid along the same lines today then they will surely be tempted to sanction Rooney's sale to Newcastle. United would be unable to match a purely cash sale, leaving them reliant on footballing factors attracting the youngster to Old Trafford.

WAYNE ROONEY will today complete a £25million switch to Manchester United.

The Everton and England superstar, 18, was at United’s Carrington training ground yesterday for a medical.

Old Trafford director Maurice Watkins and chief executive David Gill are understood to have met with Rooney’s agent Paul Stretford on Sunday night to go over the final details of the player’s contract.

Rooney is expected to be unveiled by United today and the transfer has to be registered with the Premier League by 5pm this afternoon. They in turn have to register it with UEFA by midnight tomorrow.

The transfer will bring to an end a protracted saga which has lasted since May when United first targeted the player.

Initially Everton had been holding out for between £30m and £40m.

But it became clear they were not going to get that price for a player whose position at Goodison Park has now become untenable.

United had wanted to wait until the January transfer window to do the deal but were fired into action last week when Newcastle made a shock £20m bid.

The Old Trafford board quickly matched that offer.

Newcastle increased their bid to £23.5m but the Reds topped that with a final offer of £25m.

The only dispute between the clubs is over the structure of payment.

It is understood Manchester United were offering an initial £10m down plus the same figure in a year’s time and the rest made up based on Rooney’s future achievements with the Reds.

However, Everton were not happy with that final clause and wanted it to be a straight cash deal of £10m down plus £10m in 12 months.

Last night negotiations were continuing on how the remaining £5m would be paid.

Everton do not want that payment based on United’s potential success.

Rooney made it clear to Goodison boss David Moyes that Old Trafford was his preferred destination.

Things have recently turned ugly for Rooney on Merseyside with Everton fans turning against him.

Quelle ist die äußerst glaubwürdige Sun. Wenn man dem Artikel Glauben schenken kann, dann war Rooney schon in Manchester für den Medical Check. Rooney selber spricht auch immer davon, dass seine Präferenz eindeutig ManU ist, und nicht Newcastle.

Wayne Rooney will finally become a Manchester United player later today with Everton confident a compromise can be reached over a performance-related clause incorporated within a £26m deal ahead of the transfer deadline.

The Everton chairman Bill Kenwright met with United's chief executive David Gill for talks over the proposed move after yesterday's goalless draw between the two teams at Old Trafford. While the pair departed with the situation as yet unresolved and Rooney still in limbo, negotiations resumed last night over the chunk of the transfer directly related to the player's and United's future success.

Everton are anxious to ensure that those extra monies can realistically be triggered and, to that end, were attempting to link them to the player's future appearances for United and the team's qualification for the Champions League rather than him gaining specific European or domestic honours. Kenwright is still hoping that the performance-related fee will be set at £6m, with United currently offering £5m.

As it stands, the Everton chairman is willing to accept United paying the main transfer fee in two instalments with £10m to be delivered up front and another £10m due next summer.

The second payment will be taken out of Sir Alex Ferguson's transfer budget for the 2005-06 season, with Everton also insistent upon a sell-on clause of 25% of any future fee for Rooney above £26m.

That would effectively mean that, should the teenager be sold by United at some stage for £40m, then Everton would be due a further £3.5m to take the 18-year-old's overall transfer fee to nearer the Merseysiders' initial £30m valuation.

Gill, flanked by Ferguson and United's director and solicitor Maurice Watkins, initially proved resistant to those demands yesterday, arguing that the bottom has long since fallen out of the transfer market. The chief executive cited Cristiano Ronaldo's £12.24m transfer from Sporting Lisbon to Old Trafford and José Antonio Reyes' move from Arsenal for an initial £10.5m as examples of comparable players switching to the Premiership for relatively small fees in the last year.

Yet Everton and David Moyes, who also attended the talks, have made no secret of the fact that clubs have to pay a premium to buy young English players. Kenwright stuck by that argument when discussions resumed last night with United expected to concede to their wishes in a bid to complete the move.

Rooney can realistically expect to undergo a medical at a private hospital in Cheshire this morning, having only ruled out joining Newcastle after the Tyneside club sacked its manager Sir Bobby Robson yesterday.

The England striker should pass those medical tests, for all that he is still recovering from a broken metatarsal sustained during Euro 2004, having pleaded with the Everton hierarchy to smooth his passage out of the club he has supported since his childhood.

Rooney has witnessed the furious reaction of the club's supporters - offensive graffiti has been sprayed on the walls of Goodison Park and the nearby Gwladys Street infants' school - with the travelling fans making their feelings known again during yesterday's stalemate. As a result he has made telephone calls to club officials to express how desperate he is to move away, with Everton having reluctantly conceded that he will not play for them again.
