Valencia’s Aimar sidelined for three weeks

Valencia CF’s Argentine midfielder Pablo Aimar has suffered another setback in his attempt to regain a consistent first-team place with the Spanish champions, after suffering a thigh injury against Real Sociedad.

Aimar, who made an appearance in Claudio Ranieri’s starting XI in yesterday’s 3-1 win, could miss the next three weeks because of the injury. Aimar missed most of the second half of Valencia’s La Liga and UEFA Cup-winning seasons with a similar ailment.

Aimar is for sure going to miss Valencia’s Champions League match next week against German champions Werder Bremen, and will miss league games against Deportivo on Wednesday, Racing Santander, and Real Betis.

Aimar joined Los Ches in 2000 after spending four seasons at Argentine club River Plate. Coming into this season, Aimar had appeared in over 100 games for Valencia.

Schade, kann einem schon Leid tun. Der nächste Rückschlag für ihn und das ausgerechnet dann, wo er sich nach seiner letzten Verletzungspause wieder in die erste Elf gespielt hat.
