chinomoreno Im ASB-Olymp Report post Posted August 31, 2004 Angulo set for Che stay Angel Angulo is surprisingly set to remain with Valencia and spurn a move to Arsenal, after making a late change of heart on his Liga future. The 27-year-old was expected to join The Gunners on Tuesday after being left out of the Che side who kicked off their campaign with a 2-1 win over Villarreal on Monday. Angulo travelled to London to undergo a medical with the Highbury outfit, but Valencia president Jaime Orti has confirmed the player is to return to Spain. Orti has quashed early speculation a failed medical was the reason why the attacking midfielder has decided against a move to The Premiership and return home. "He has decided to return to the club and when he arrives we will see why he has made his choice," said Orti to AS. "The decision has nothing to do with his medical results. He deserves everything he gets and hopefully he has returned to stay. "Valencia have always maintained their desire to keep Angulo and now he has accepted." Arsenal agreed a fee with the Liga champions on Monday, although Chelsea expressed late interest in the star, and were expected to unveil him before the transfer deadline. skysports.planetfootball.com
