Vogts happy with improving Scotland

Scotland manager Berti Vogts says he was happy with the 0-0 stalemate against Norway in Oslo yesterday.

Hearts defender Stephen Pressley was judged best afield in a game which saw Scotland hardly threaten the hosts' goal.

"In the first half, we had a lot of problems but we got back in the match," said Vogts. "We got better and better and we kept the ball well in midfield.

"I won't talk about Germany because the next game is against the Faroes and we need three points from that. Then, I will think about Germany.

"We will be together again in two weeks and this result is very hopeful for us."

Pressley told BBC Scotland: "I'm very disappointed but hopefully I will earn a place against Germany.

"We took a lot of positives from the Germany game and we carved out one again tonight.

"It was a very positive result before the two Euro 2004 qualifiers."
