Ronaldinho to join Milan – agent

Milan are in pole position to sign Ronaldinho in the summer of 2008, his brother and agent Roberto Assis stated on Friday.

"Last summer Milan decided to sign Ricardo Oliveira, who is one of my clients, instead of [Real Madrid’s] Ronaldo,” Assis told Spanish newspaper AS.

“And I now think that I could take Ronaldinho to the San Siro in two seasons’ time.”

Reports in Italy and Spain are suggesting that Milan are ready to offer £64m to Barcelona for the European Footballer of the Year.

It is also understood that the Rossoneri have prepared a contract worth £8.5m a season for the Brazilian international.

Rossoneri President Silvio Berlusconi has made no secret of his wish to see ‘Dinho wear Milan’s jersey and has reiterated that his club will be ready to make an offer if Barca decide that the ace is available for transfer.

However, cynics are insisting that Assis may be trying to force the Spanish club to extend his brother’s contract until 2014.
