chinomoreno Im ASB-Olymp Beitrag melden Geschrieben 30. August 2006 Racing Santander - Nikola Zigic's new club Move confirmed both by Spanish and Serbian press We can finally put the rumours about where Nikola Zigic might continue his career behind us. Both Spanish and Serbian press have announced that the tall Serbian international will join Racing Santander and play for this Primera Division side until June 2010. This info has been confirmed to the Serbian media giant B92 by the Crvena zvezda officials as well, but the "Crveno-Beli" didn't reveal under which financial conditions they agreed to release their leading striker. Spain, good or bad choice? So, after "moving" Zigic to English Premiership, German Bundesliga, French Ligue 1, and even Italian Serie B (Juventus), the 2.02m tall Serbian striker ended in Spain. In the final moments, only Real Betis and Racing Santander were contending to sign the 25-year-old, and at the very end the representatives from El Sardinero made the better offer. Due to his style of play (classical center forward with solid ability to pick up low passes, and great hunch for movement), there is some concern how will he fit in Spanish football system. However, with players such as Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Patrick Kluivert and few others, it might not appear as such huge problem as it would years ago when aces such as Raul, Morientes and Predrag Mijatovic were the stereotype forwards in Primera. Four year contract The Serbian press revealed that Zigic has pledged his loyalty to Racing on a four-year-contract and that he will remain their player until June 2010, unless some serious offer lands in a few years. At the moment, it's certain that the Serb wont have any serious competition among Racing strikers, and that he will be their No.1 star of this summer's transfer window. Forty-four scored goals at Marakana Zigic will therefore leave Marakana after three seasons as leading Crvena zvezda striker. During this period, the 15 time capped Serbian international has scored 44 goals in the Super League while making 76 appearances. jadransport.org marca.com Sehr guter Transfer für Racing, man scheint die Pleite bei Rafael Sobis(Transfer in letzter Sekunde gescheitert) gut verkraftet zu haben.
