chinomoreno Im ASB-Olymp Beitrag melden Geschrieben 27. Mai 2006 Fernandez back at Zaragoza Victor Fernandez has returned to take over at Real Zaragoza after being approached by the club's new president following the exit of Victor Munoz. Agapito Iglesias took over as president from Alfonso Solans recently and his first job was to search for a new coach after Munoz left at the end of the season. Fernandez enjoyed a successful seven-year spell in charge of the club between 1990 and 1996 and is thought to be the man to lift the club back into Europe. "He is a coach that created something great for Zaragoza and Aragon," explained Iglesias after announcing the news. "Victor has already started work and for that reason I ask that he be left to work with the team that he has and with the people that will join him shortly." After being axed by Zaragoza in the 1996-97 campaign, Fernandez had a brief stint at Tenerife before taking over at Celta Vigo. The Galician side qualified for European competition for four consecutive season under him between 1998 and 2002 and it was a surprise when he left the club to take over at Betis. Things did not go well in Andalucia and after leaving the Manuel Ruiz de Lopera, Fernandez took on the enormous task of replacing Jose Mourinho at Porto, but was unable to repeat the success of the current Chelsea boss. skysports.com 0 Zitieren Diesen Beitrag teilen Link zum Beitrag Auf anderen Seiten teilen
