chinomoreno 1,024 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 Cani becomes Villarreal's third new face MADRID, May 26 (Reuters) - Villarreal have bought Real Zaragoza midfielder Cani out of his contract and signed him on a five-year deal, the Primera Liga club said on Friday. They are reported to have paid around 11 million euros ($14 million). The 24-year-old, who was close to making the Spain squad for the World Cup finals, becomes Villarreal's third signing since the end of the season. The modest-Mediterranean outfit have already secured the services of Turkish striker Nihat Kahveci and French midfielder Robert Pires, who were both out of contract.
