Blues still in for Nihat

Nihat Kahveci's serious knee injury has not deterred Chelsea from pursuing the Real Sociedad forward, according to sources in Spain.

The Turkey international tore knee ligaments recently and faces six months on the sidelines.

After rejecting a new deal with Sociedad, he looks likely to be leaving the Basque country despite refusing to rule out fresh discussions with his current club.

Chelsea are believed to be long-term admirers of a player who formerly attracted Manchester United during chief executive Peter Kenyon's stint at Old Trafford.
