Spurs chasing Croatian ace

Tottenham have joined the race for Croatian starlet Niko Kranjcar.

The north London club have been to watch the Dinamo Zagreb ace a couple of times and will now have to fight it out with the likes of Middlesbrough, AC Milan and Sevilla for his signature.

Zagreb vice-president Zdravko Mamic told Sky Sports: "Tottenham have been watching Kranjcar a number of times. Their scout has been here to see him.

"But there are a number of clubs watching. Dynamo Kiev, Milan, Sevilla and Feyenoord have all been. But as we said this is not a surprise to us. Unfortunately I think we will be losing him soon."

The 20-year-old Kranjcar was born in Austria, meaning he doesn't need a work permit to play in England.
