Pinturicchio fino alla fine Beitrag melden Geschrieben 2. September 2004 Coco: I’ll be back Thursday 2 September, 2004 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Francesco Coco hopes to be playing for Inter by November after initial fears that he would never walk again. The Italian international, who hasn’t played an official match for almost a year, is still recovering after he had back surgery in an attempt to solve a nerve problem in his leg. "I am no longer in any pain and I’m quickly recovering," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper. "This is a major triumph for me because I thought I would not be able to walk again." Given Coco’s fitness problems, boss Roberto Mancini has decided to omit him from the Nerazzurri’s Champions’ League squad. "The Coach rightly needs two players in every position," continued the left-back. "He is relying on Giovanni Pasquale and Giuseppe Favalli. "They are both in good shape, while I am coming back after a year on the sidelines. If one of them got injured then I wouldn’t be able to guarantee my full disposal. "It is better to avoid any risks. It is one thing playing a friendly, but another featuring in the Champions’ League." The 27-year-old was once hailed as the new Paolo Maldini but his career has stalled during spells at Milan, Torino and Barcelona. channel4.com 0 Zitieren Diesen Beitrag teilen Link zum Beitrag Auf anderen Seiten teilen
