Metz keeper on the move

Young Metz goalkeeper Ludovic Butelle is set to join Spanish side Valencia next season - a decision which has not gone down well with the French Under-21 boss.

The 21-year-old has received some heavy criticism for deciding to move to La Liga at such a young age.

Many believe he should stay in France for at least another year before moving on, but he looks to be on his way according to Valencia director of football Jesus Garcia Pitarch.

"The player and his agent gave their agreement. The contract signature will happen at the end of the season," said Pitarch.

"We had a lot of trouble with Auxerre about Sissoko, so we want to settle the situation in serenity with Metz."

French Under-21 coach Raymond Domenech is very annoyed by the keeper's decision.

"He has to think carefully," said Domenech. "I advised him to stay one more season at Metz.

"If Butelle will leave, it is a disaster. Not for the French Under-21 team, but for him."

Metz chairman Carlo Molinari added his opinion to the matter, saying the young keeper is chasing the money.

"Butelle's decision to go to Valencia is easy to understand, he gives the priority to money rather than his career," said Molinari.

"As Raymond Domenech said, if he wants to make a blunder, he has to leave."

Wäre wieder mal ein sehr guter Transfer von Valencia. Glaube, dass das auch für Butelle nur gut sein kann, klar, dass er anfangs nur auf der Bank sitzen wird, aber Canizares wird Ende dieses Jahres 35 und dürfte auch bald aufhören, Butelle könnte ein guter Kandidat für seine Nachfolge sein, das weiß er sicher auch, daher der Wunsch zu Valencia zu gehen, obwohl man in Frankreich dagegen ist.

Wenn man sich mal den Kader von Valencia ansieht, wird einem klar, dass das wohl die Mannschaft in Spanien, wenn nicht in ganz Europa ist, die das meiste Potential hat, die perfekte Mischung aus jung und alt. Nächstes Jahr dürfte man dann wahrscheinlich den niedristen Alterschnitt der ganzen Liga haben und eine Mannschaft, in der es vor großen Talenten nur so wimmelt. Wenn sie nicht einen großen Teil ihrer Spieler abgeben, sind sie nächstes Jahr einer der heißesten Aktien, wenn es um die Champions League geht. Außerdem bin ich davon überzeugt, dass sie schon dieses Jahr den Titel in Spanien holen werden.

Einfach vorbildlich die Transferpolitik der Verantwortlichen dort, obwohl sie natürlich aus der finanziellen Notlage heraus entstanden ist.
