Espanyol land Argentine gem

Espanyol have swooped to sign Argentine midfielder Pablo Zabaleta.

The Barcelona outfit have paid San Lorenza €3.5 million for the services of the highly-rated midfielder.

Espanyol have secured 50 percent of the player, who was captain of Argentina's World Youth Cup winning side.

Zabaleta has agreed a five-year deal at The Olimpico de Montjuic.

"Espanyol is an important team that has just done a very good campaign," said Zabaleta.

"This is the right moment for being transferred to a European team and this is an interesting team for starting my European experience.

"I feel sorry for having to leave San Lorenzo because I have been many years in this team but this is a chance that I can't let go by."

Wie schon letztes Jahr eine wirklich geniale Einkaufspolitik, die Espanyol da verfolgt. Bin mir ziemlich sicher, dass Zabaleta in Spanien zum Superstar wird.

Allerdings wirklich ein toller Transfer!! Nach dem Abgang von Maxi musste so und so ein guter Spieler her. Zabaleta ist eindeutig ein Superspieler. Denke das Espanyol wieder recht weit oben mitwirken wird.
