waren vor dem spiel krasse aussenseiter (quote 1,40:2,50) im rückspiel im hexenkessel von kairo. es war der dritte anlauf in den letzten vier jahren, und endlich hat es geklappt. vor 2 jahren waren sie wie dieses jahr im heimspiel auch mit einem 0:0 nach kairo gereist. letztes mal wurden sie noch 3:0 abgezogen, aber heute gabs endlich einen SIEG 3:1 !!!

After their African Champions League final first leg ended 0-0 in Tunisia, five-time continental champions Al Ahly of Egypt were heavy favourites to finish off Etoile du Sahel and claim yet a record sixth CAF crown in Cairo on Friday.

However, the team that Al Ahli beat in two of the last three CAF finals, finally got it right to run out 3-1 winners in an enthralling second leg and book passage to next month's FIFA Club World Cup in Japan.

After a tight opening period at the hulking Cairo International Stadium, Etoile's Afouene Gharbi finished off a glorious volley in first-half stoppage time to silence the crowd and set up an intriguing second half.

The Egyptian giants wasted no time hauling themselves back into it thoug, when Emad Al Nahhas slammed a powerful header in the 50th minute that was simply too much for the Etoile goalkeeper to handle. The scorer soon went from hero to villain when he was given his marching orders for a professional foul on Chermiti shortly after celebrating his goal.

The man who was fouled then went on to seal the glory for the Tunisians, when, in second half stoppage time, he finished off a textbook counter-attack to quiet the crowd again. And there was to be more pain for the hosts and their supporters when Etoile finished off a 3-1 rout through Mohamed Ali Nafkha's fierce drive.

It is the first African title for Etoile du Sahel and they will soon take part in their first FIFA Club World Cup.
