Oktober 2006 Valencia's Albelda out for two months with knee injury Valencia midfielder David Albelda will be sidelined for two months with a knee injury, the Primera Liga club said on Monday. The 29-year-old Spain international suffered a twisted lateral ligament in his right knee when going into a tackle in the second half of his side's 1-0 league win over Osasuna on Sunday. "After tests, the club's medical services confirm the diagnosis given at the game on Sunday. Assuming there are no complications the player will be out for two months," a statement said on Valencia's Web site. He will miss the next three Champions League matches against Shakhtar Donetsk, Olympiakos and AS Roma. Albelda joins defenders Carlos Marchena and Asier del Horno and midfielders Ruben Baraja and Vicente on coach Quique Sanchez Flores's growing injury list. Spain international Del Horno is to undergo surgery on the area around his Achilles tendon on Tuesday in an attempt to resolve a long-term injury. He has yet to play for Valencia since moving from Chelsea in the close season, and missed the World Cup finals with the same problem. reuters.co.uk 0 Zitieren Diesen Beitrag teilen Link zum Beitrag Auf anderen Seiten teilen
