All Italian clubs must make a down payment and give financial assurances in order to be entered for the new season.

But Covisoc, the commission in charge of subscription, have rejected the status of the two top-flight sides for now.

"We’ll resolve everything very soon," said President Paolo De Luca. "The fans can stay calm because we will be in Serie A next season."

Reggina were also confident that they would come up with the necessary cash by Tuesday evening to resolve the problem.

In Serie B, Napoli, Ancona, Torino and Verona have yet to be given the green light by Covisoc.

All the clubs have until July 22 to make the necessary changes for a second attempt to be registered for the 2004-05 season.

In Serie C1, Covisoc have stopped Benevento, Como, Spezia, Teramo, Vis Pesaro, Viterbese.

Brindisi, Isernia, L'Aquila, Meda, Paternò, Palmese, Ragusa, Taranto and Varese must all provide assurances in Serie C2.
